Awesome...we have our 24 people. List is on the opening post, if I've missed anyone then let me know

In the next couple of days...if not today...I will send everyone on the list a horse for $60,000. Accept this horse. The horse won't be that good so if you're interested in keeping it, I don't mind. If not, send it back to me in a couple days. Once everyone has accepted their horses, I will allocate everyone a number and once the field is released, you'll know your horse.

The Melbourne Cup is on Tuesday November 2nd; sometime Monday night 1st Novemeber for those North America inclined

Horses have been sent out. Send me a message if I filled the amount in incorrectly.

Also - if I called you Cleo accidently I'm sorry. That was the first one I did, and I probably forgot to change the name at least once

Numbers Revealed!!!11!

Katy Turner 1
Michael Edwards 2
Franky Dam 3
Kimberly Jean 4
Iggy Timeeczech 5
Carolyn Eaton 6
Matt Wilson 7
Happy Trails 8
Kenzie Larkin 9
Clinton Jacinto 10
Bradley Davis 11
Cleo Patra 12
Bill Outsilver 13
Jon Xett 14
Rebecca Cass 15
Jon Smythe 16
Peter Gleason 17
Chris Simpson 18
Nick Gilmore 19
Duncan Macrae 20
Mary Whalen 21
Laura Cameron 22
Amy Atkins 23
Melanie Lejeune 24

Last year 22 won, with 11 second and 14 third. So don't despair if you have an outside barrier/gate/post position/ whatever else people call them.

I'll refund the money if your horse is scratched, and there will be a deduction in the pool dependent on whether I'm feeling particularly cheap on the day or not

Prizemoney is as said before: 1st: $1,140,000; 2nd: $650,000; 3rd: $350,000; Last: $100,000

The field will be released a few hours after Friday's results. I won't be home at that time to update it, but if you're really interested in the horse you have try this link:

Cheers and good luck!

Bauer is scratched so Michael will get his money repaid to him. Since I can't be bothered working out new amounts for the prizes, we'll just keep them the way they are

The race is in just over 5 hours

Good luck!
