I finished my article on Fallen in Battle and Augmenting, two of Agronomist's sons. :)

Alaska was a bit of a shock. I had two more AW routers win their races nicely and one got claimed for $500 in a four way shake.Takes a Spark who's by newer sire Annihilating and out of Magic Flame (Magician/Loki Flame) a multi-surface broodmare who produced a daughter of Dr. Ghazi named Tempus Vernum. Good luck Brad Emacher with her. She should be an interesting broodmare.

The other, Proud Magic is by Dumbledore and is out of Proud Eclair. She won her race too which means that two of Proud Eclair (Life Worth Living/End of the Line) daughter won this week. Her first foal by Dr. Ghazi, Michaela Quinn won the Obsession Stakes. Proud Eclair is formidable but is a bit tricky sometimes. I think she went to Goal Keeper this year.

In third was Always Magical another daughter of Dumbledore, this one out of Never Leaves my first SB purchase. She's by Always With Me (a much nicer racehorse than stud) and is out of Ginger Punch who also produced Deserves a Shot and Eastern Dynasty. Never Leaves went to Standout this year.

It was more some older horses that shocked me most but it was nice to see these routers break their maidens.

Holy Carp!

Tina Sparkles who's by West and out of Blaze of Magic (by Fang) was giving me a few fits with her earlier works. But she's picked it up and did five furlongs in 59.87!

Great article on Agronomist and her sons Augmenting and Fallen in Battle Marzy, an interesting and informative read I highly recommend everybody read it.
Also congrats on Tina Sparkles! That is a lightning work and I'm thrilled she's by my stud West. I look forward to following her racing career. Good luck with her!

Gonna be nervous with this one running in the SC, hopefully he can keep his streak alive.

I always knew that Artificial Arena was located in Illinois. So I expected it was located near Chicago or near St. Louis (East St. Louis which is on the Illinois side of the river). I finally got around to looking at the map -- Artificial Arena is located in the middle of Illinois, near Sullivan (a small town of no distinction that I am aware of). Does anyone know the reason why Artificial Arena is located here?

BEHOLD!

The ultimate preview/handicap notes for the All-Weather Steward's Cup races! I still have to write up the Matron and the Classic, but I've been writing for 4 1/2 hours straight and need food. These are in preparation for our Hold All Tickets Special All-Weather Preview podcast, coming this weekend! :)

Enjoy!

It's probably no surprise that I enjoyed the podcast very much, since two of my three starters got some nice commentary.

Thanks!

In case anyone is wondering, The Boiling Point comes into the SC Juvenile with only one start, because he was one of those difficult horses that needed additional equipment testing to come to a firm conclusion. It feels a bit like throwing him to the wolves, but his lone start was impressive enough to earn him a shot.

Congrats to the SC winners!

Also, when did Jury Conviction show up as a miler influence?!? We got Iron Clad Lad and D's Jury this year, plus probably a few more nice horses who didn't run in the SC races...

p.s. I want to see a Jury Conviction mare sent to Painted Mural. Edict x Ghostzapper crosses went zooooooooom on the dirt.
