I've never gotten a report from any of my pensioners...just saying.
This is where a creative signature would go.

"Problematical kicked at a hound today, but fortunately missed. Looks like Problematical needs some additional training!"

That almost made me laugh out loud at work.

"Jibaro Cat was used to teach the local pony club about horse racing."
For some reason, that's my favorite one.

"Before today's fox hunt started, Money Sky stepped on a hound's tail."
Pensioners are quite the hazard to hounds, apparently!

Lessons Horse report...Be Back Later...I hope so...being he was spooked by a snake and left Ashley sitting on her tush. Ashley must be a snake magnet...seems like the same thing happened to her before with my other horse Acts of Courage.

I'm really laughing at the horses' names and the incidents they are involved in....too funny!

Rifleman Hagman's name came from a movie series called Sharpes...about riflemen during the Napoleon wars. Odd thing....as most know, I'm temporarily not able to walk for a while and thus have been spending time watching more t.v. than usual. Today, I happen to watch the last of the Sharpe movies in which Rifleman Hagman dies. Weird-weird-weird oddity there...that the first time I've seen those shows in over two years and get to the end of them, this comes up on the board here - a character in a show I love I watch his death scene and the horse I named after him on the same day wins a rodea. Again...weird. :P

Way to go, Foretold Doom, and Stormy's Guardian : )
I had a great year last year with my pensioners, and this year wasn't looking too good, but this last few have bumped the balance up to a nice mark. At least they are paying for the pasture fees. :)

Original Copy made it over a river or something on his fox hunt. I had to think back to see if I remembered even having a horse by that name but it turned out I bought him for $100 and pensioned him soon after. Anyway, he's doing well. :)

Oh and I think I made about $10k on rodeos and such. Dial Up became a rodeo horse after his last race yesterday, my only paint I have. I'll miss him on the racetrack but he'll have fun on the rodeos.

Well this season, my working pensioners (isn't that an oxymoron:P) didn't do as well as the prior year. (the year 30 total information is from the 'Lessons Barns' thread in the Racing forum.)

Total for Year 30: $123,000
Total for Year 31: $ 45,000
--------------------------
Grand Total = $168,000

That sure helps with the pasture fees for the non-earning pensioners I have and probably helps a bit with a few other expenses. I've never given a horse over to AJ, so I do love this aspect of the Sim that allows for my older/slower runners to have a chance at making some money.

I will be following my pensioners again in year 32. If anyone wants to join in and track their own, feel free to join in. : )

The horses that I have made into rodeo horses and eventers are apparently lazy/suck because I haven't received a check regarding it in, gosh, forever? I think I've only received a check once. My horses even suck as pensioners haha

2010-11-23 Won first place in the horse show.

I was beginning to think my horses wore themselves out the first year, or just went on strike. But finally, one of my pensioners won some money this year. : )

So, now at week 10, I can introduce my first pensioner money maker for year 32!
------------------
Quinton, won 3rd in today's horse show! $5,000 prize.

Year 32 Balance: $5,000

Also from the Lessons Barn:
Scat Man spooked in the isle and broke a cross tie. At least it's not expensive to replace!
------------------

Quinton, btw was was named for a character (a werewolf) in an old favorite t.v. show of mine, Dark Shadows. What's also funny is the timing on this - because just 2 nights ago, I saw the trailer that was just released for the up-coming movie Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp playing as Barnabas Collins - who was the vampire on that show.
