Re: Annual Melbourne Cup Contest
I totally forgot to mention how this works...fail
Anyway...for starters you will pay 50k to enter. In the week before the race I will sell you a horse for this amount, you accept and return at your leisure.
Once everyone has paid, I will randomly draw out names for each horse in the Melbourne cup. If your horse comes in first, second, third or last you get the amount of cash in the post a couple above this one.
I think the amount of cash you can win is pretty damn good for an entry fee of 50k so get those entries in!
Also, special mention to Laura Cameron who has donated 500k into the prize pool.
Hope this helps!

I never do well here, but why not, put me in. I don't have the money to throw away, but I would love to get my first Stewardbred, so here goes nothing.

I'll take part in the Cleo cup...eh I mean the melbourne cup I would like for Cleo to stop her voo doo enchantment and stop her streaks of wins in this event. I believe she has won it twice now consecutively. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope. You're not wrong. I feel it is my duty in this life to relieve Peter and the other contestants of their fake moneyClinton Jacinto wrote:I'll take part in the Cleo cup...eh I mean the melbourne cup I would like for Cleo to stop her voo doo enchantment and stop her streaks of wins in this event. Melbourne Cup is about the only thing I ever have any luck with. Last year I was actually down there for my 20th birthday (every few years my birthday is on the same day as the cup). I won $120 betting on Americain.

Re: Annual Melbourne Cup Contest
Darn that Cleo and her Melbourne Cup sweep skillz
Wouldn't describe the current amount of entires as overwhelming. By my calcs there are 10 people down to play. Is there interest in this thing or not really? There's still a week or so to enter so maybe people are just holding off?
p.s. Dunaden and Bauer were huge runs at Geelong. Would be pretty surprised if an overseas trained horse didn't win this cup, just quietly

I don't think people have realised its here. Maybe post an article about it in the Feature Race? I was going to do that myself but I'm short of time at the moment.

I definitely would love to play!
I didn't watch the race, but from what I've read Americain looked pretty impressive in his win today. Back to back wins, perhaps? Hehe.
