SIMMY Award Voting

Post by The Steward »

Vote in the poll please - I don't need discussion, I'm just talking about this year, post-holiday SIMMY interest.

Deciding the simmy's for the populous seems to make sense and might cause a few less heads to explode--

but what will you do for the mixers?--whom you profess to know little or nothing about. Or have you been studying up on the red headed step-children of the sim?

Right now the number of people that want to vote is enough that I don't think I would change it, but I was interested in the results. Every year we have people telling me "no one wants to vote anyway," but every year we get 300 votes for the TBs, so... yeah.

Honestly I wanted Em to crown them simply because it seems like the horses that deserve to win are beat by those who are recognized for their name. An SC horse that won a single G1 in Asia doesn't deserve to win over a horse that won a string of G3s and stayed there all year long, IMO.

I voted against a popular vote but I love the ridiculous tantrums that occur like clockwork after the results are announced.

I have no idea what constitutes the 'correct way to vote' but the wildly exaggerated emotions make me want to start making popcorn NOW.

I voted that you pick the winners because otherwise, I see plenty of horses who should have won, who didn't, due to popularity. People vote for the names they know, or their friends horses, not by who is the most deserving. I'd be curious to see who YOU picked for once.
