We’ve done this twice before, but is everyone ready to do The Foaling Contest for a THIRD time? Just this past week I purchased a new broodmare who is due to foal soon, and it just seemed fitting to open up another contest!

So here is the gist of what you have to do:
Review the information provided for you, and make your best guess as to the date that the mare will deliver, the time she will deliver, the color of the foal, and the gender of the foal. I reserve the right that you only guess ONCE per mare (to make things easier on me). In return, I will write down all the contestants’ guesses and I will provide updates and more information on how the pregnancy goes as she gets closer to her due date. Those who are the closest to the actual foal born will win prizes. And, of course, there will be first and second-place prizes, as well!

16 y/o Chestnut Quarter Horse mare
She has a star on her forehead, no other markings.
She is bred to a RED ROAN stallion named VS Code Red
She has had 9 foals in the past. (7 of them are on record with the AQHA)
Her DUE DATE is scheduled for approximately March 8, 2012.

Extra Notes:
I was told that she foaled approximately 1-2 weeks earlier than her due date in the past.
For you superstitious people: I've had 3 foals in the past (all in the foaling contests!) and ALL of them have been COLTS.

I'll try to get better photographs of her as the weather clears up a bit more. It's been a bit nasty outside so all of the horses have been kept in the barn, and as most of you all know.. inside a dark barn isn't exactly the best place to take photographs of a horse!
