Steward's Cup Stars of Tomorrow Program Poll

Post by The Steward »

The Thursday Steward's Cup races (and the rest of Thursday results, like usual) are currently slated to take place at the normal time on Thursday, May 10th. Normally, I call all the Thursday races (the 8 2yo races) and enjoy doing so. However, if I try to take off that Thursday, my boss will literally fire me and that would be unfortunate for everyone. If I move the calls to be at 8 pm, I can get home from work and do the show from 5-8 ish like we would do Derby night. So, the poll options are below:
"There's no secret to training a good horse. It's a matter of being fortunate enough to get one."

Can I suggest that you don't literally call the races but write the calls down in your own time and then post them (as you usually would do) in the forum.

How about a Podcast? That can be an option, we've done that before.

I can't do a podcast with racecalls because the results run at midnight of the race day and I get up for work at 4 am and return at 3 pm... and results would run at what, 1? 2? I don't even know when Tues/Thurs results run! So there would be no time for me to record calls and post them.

As for writing them down after the fact, where's the motivation? Once you've seen the results, anyone can just make up calls, no drama added, you know who wins!

Well I don't know if I'm the only on but I sometimes read the calls before checking results (cos I get to check results in the morning when everyone else is asleep because it's night for them).

I'll never be convinced there are Stewards Cup races of import run on a day other than Friday.

I'm being selfish but the later the better on thursday for me so I'd be up for that. The MWF option that you have works even better since only one of those days are my parents here.

I usually get tired of race calls within an hour, so I voted for the former. Why not just do what you want to do? Calls are way too much work just to make some of us happy about our fake horses.
"The way I look at it, I'm not meeting anyone better than Julie K... so what am I missing?"
