Rest in peace, Roberto Prieto

Post by The Steward »

Our good friend and longtime SIMster Roberto Prieto has passed away after a battle with illness. He is memorialized in this piece by Luis Polar:

He will also be remembered in this annual SIM event: http://www.simhorseracing.com/race.php?RaceID=294273 (didn't mean to have it so soon but this is actually where it worked great on the calendar!)

What a touching piece by Luis. Rest in peace Roberto, and my sincere condolences to Luis and all of Roberto's family and friends. Life is short; what counts is what we do in the brief time each of us has here.

To be blunt, it really sucks to loose a friend like that. You feel smaller for it.

Roberto seems like he had a unique and wonderful life. I regret that I did not get to know him better. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and loved ones.

I never interacted with Robert but I can tell he left his mark on the SIM. May he rest in peace, and my condolences to his family and friends.

Roberto sold me my first "big horse". Knighted was on the sales page for $150,000 and I asked him if he'd sell the horse for $125,000 and I gave him my "new kid on the block" story. No questions asked the deal was made. I always had good interactions with Roberto, we'll miss him in the SIM but he will be missed most by those who knew him best.

Luis, thank you for sharing your memories of Roberto. He sounded like an awesome friend. (The part where he was saying that Em sounded ultra hot and wanted to call her did make me laugh in spite of everything.) I'm glad you have so many great memories with him. My thoughts are with you and Roberto's family.
