Today We Have a Saturday Surprise!!
In honor of this momentous occasion, I have bred my first foal of the year: Saturday Surprise!
Our race viewer is up and launched 2 days early! All races from Year 24 and beyond can now be viewed by clicking the little TV Set icon next to a race.
We are very proud of our viewer - not only can you watch the race unfold just as it did, but our trotters trot and our pacers pace, and we think we are the only viewer that offers Paints and Appaloosas looking like their breed/color! The weather and track surface are both reflected correctly when you watch, and there is a race timer displayed, too.
Because this is our Beta Viewer 1.0, we acknowledge there are some quirks with it.
-It works on the iPad and iPhone but isn't reliable to be smooth - it can be jerky.
-The red poles are 1/8th poles. I know that in reality they should be black and white and green and white and then red and white but they are just red and white for now.
-Steeplechasers kind of crash through their jumps at this point, there's no jumping animation yet.
-There are tons of new things we could add to it, like lengths between, fractions posted, toggling between which horse you want to specifically watch, etc. But that will all have to wait until 2.0.
If you are wanting to see your races without knowing the results, here is how you do it. Go to the race search page, and type in whatever conditions your horse ran, whether it's "Week 1 Arcadia Park" and select the race, or what. Obviously don't check the "View Entries/Results" at the bottom button. Then the list will come up, click the TV icon, and watch the race!
We hope you enjoy this, the very first time that these races are "real!"

Re: Today We Have a Saturday Surprise!!
LOL ok so... I always said that a race viewer wasn't a priority for me, but watching a race is TERRIFYING. I had no idea how close my ponies almost came to losing sometimes. It really does bring some big emotion into it, so well done Sim team.
Also, the chestnuts are CUTE. I'm never breeding anything not chestnut. Paul H will have to start a thread about the percentage of chestnut foals and how irresponsible I am. So cute!!

Re: Today We Have a Saturday Surprise!!
The jumps are just really low - I watched Cotton Gin's last one
And then I had to watch WHR's SC F &M turf win
Too bad Thorn Bird's race was year 23.
Really fun stuff - Thanks!

Re: Today We Have a Saturday Surprise!!
lol I looked at Iki's SC Juvie Fillies at 4X speed she was flying like a rocket. Kalri's Arabian Classic is another treat. It's like "How the heck did you get there that fast?!"

That is too cute...of course I had to go and watch Left Breathess's SC Juvie sprint fillies win - my goodness that's a late turn of speed!
"I was afraid of Gigi, it was true." Oh yes. Be afraid. Be very afraid...

I will be doing the following for Monday:The Steward wrote:...If you are wanting to see your races without knowing the results, here is how you do it. 0. I have already bookmarked http://www.simhorseracing.com/raceviewe ... eID=291079
1. Earlier in the day, I will record all the RaceID numbers for my Monday racers in a text file.
2. To view one of my races (after the results are up), I will paste over the specific RaceID number in the URL given in step 0 (of course, you need to hit Enter after pasting for the race viewer web page to load).

I noticed that the owner's silk ID is already part of the data set for the program. So I suspect that the jockeys will be shown wearing their owner's silks in one of the future updates. The Steward wrote: -There are tons of new things we could add to it, like lengths between, fractions posted, toggling between which horse you want to specifically watch, etc. But that will all have to wait until 2.0.

Great idea! Man some of these races are so exciting! I was really mad at Always for pushing Across The Globe on the lead in the SC F&M Turf Mile heh, but I suppose Shalom was also doing it. Naughty fillies!Ronnie Dee wrote:I will be doing the following for Monday:The Steward wrote:...If you are wanting to see your races without knowing the results, here is how you do it. Watching the SC Juve Pace race was quite exciting... what a close one that was!
