Week 3 Mon

Post by Talia Ichinari »

Tribal's boys seem to be mirroring each other lately. Both second in their respective SC races and both bounced back to win.
Still undefeated against milers and came back well from his SC placing.

Seems to be stuck in a rivalry with Iron Clad Lad.

Only other horse Gamblin Love got a 5th place finish. Oh well.

I had to fix my response.... :P

As far as all weather nights went, not too bad, not too great.

Sumner Beach (by Annihilating) was second in the Tell Me Now Stakes, an AW route with a 78 SF. Not a bad little colt. Not sure exactly what to do with him or how good he'll be yet.

Michaela Quinn (by Dr. Ghazi) was second in the AW route allowance not too bad after her blowup in the Steward's Cup, not sure what to do next with her. I'll see if she improves next time out. She was pretty good in stakes last year but I think that ill-fated foray into the SC kind of set her back. Hopefully just for a little while.

Tempus Varnum (by Dr. Ghazi) was third in the Whoa Back Stakes, an AW route which wasn't too bad for her. Not sure what to do with her which is my pattern in AW routing these days. :P

I'm not sure I can keep up with the "dirt" breeding which is factoring more into the routing but it's fun to try.

I retired two daughters of my mare Eleos that I'd bred that were in the $100 AJ sale. One of them Medal of Valor (by Commendation) was labeled a "star" mare, not sure exactly what kind as she's got Baffert on mom's side. Her half sister Lakeshore's Girl by Start Of The End was a formidable. They both might have some AW ability along with turf although Medal of Valor hypoed well with studs on all three surfaces.

I did do an article on all weather routing this week. If you can survive its epic length (about 2,004 words) as it's about all weather racing. I hope it's informative. :)

I had this youngster break his maiden on his 3rd try with a 74 SF. Apparently liked the little bit of extra distance?

Well, I can't get the link to work on this new laptop. His name is "Double Dynasty".

I hope I don't mess him up and he continues to improve.

Yeah my Eastern Dynastys like stretching out a bit. And aging a bit too. Good luck with yours!
