Proof That Sometimes the SIM is just Mean...

Post by The Steward »

I guess the chat was talking about this horse, someone linked me. I hadn't seen this horse before and it's cracking me up (sorry Landon)

http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=258004

13 seconds in 13 starts. He has lost by a nose 13 straight times.

He is a "very special/scary"

He needs only 1 piece of equipment, and is sporting it.

This is just... mean. Or luck of the draw. If this horse had broken his maiden first out, he could be a zillionaire by now. Instead his confidence level reads like one big list of heartbroken. So the next time you have a scary type that can't win in its first 2 starts, remember good old Windrunner! 13 noses away from being an undefeated superstar!!

LOL ... thanks.... I was even going to get him a headshot after that debut race.... Maybe he's mad at me for not doing it...?

Wow, I can't imagine if we'd have been able to watch all of his races rather than just those this year!

I can think of a second piece of equipment that Landon could change.

Reminds me of this one: http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=236379

And, interestingly enough, this one was also owned by Landon until she sold him to Larry, and the horse then broke its maiden haha

I have a barn full of horses that are very similar to that, though usually they're able to win once. They have records like 12: 1-10-1.

My horses finish first and third roughly 16% of the time. In recent years, they've been finishing second about 25% of the time. I had a Wednesday where I had 15 horses in stakes. None won, but 12 finished second, most by losses of a nose.

I think it's because I was the middle child....

I geld sometimes if a 2YO doesn't have a record-breaking workout before his first start. There are too many horses running with two pieces of equipment when clearly one is all that's needed.

I noticed that you also geld Steward-breds that have earned close to $1 million. Your latest gelding made me quite Happy as my Racing stable prefers to be the only source of the Chretiens line.

I think the head shot theory might be right. And my own attempts to add to the Chretiens line were a major fail.

It was either him or It is I, and It is I doesn't have a "geld this horse" button on his page, strangely enough.

P.S. - he's now over $1 million.

I bought this horse off of Landon who also liked running second, i changed his equipment and gelded him and he has now won two of three starts.
Don't post anything, it might upset someone.
