trainers in real life ignore speed numbers all the time.. I love seeing races with runners ranging from 10-70 speed figures in the same Race...

Timeform ratings have been around for over 50 years and and are based on "weight" assigned, relative to a horses performance in each race it runs.

Yeah, I always thought that Timeform numbers were more class/performance ratings rather than outright speed figures... Tough to convert one to the other, as I think Timeforms are more subjective and Beyers are more formulaic (which is not to say that Beyers aren't subject to the influence of opinions... *cough* AndybeyerhatesWoodbine *cough* ) ;)
