but I was not able to enter her in any races. She is 5 now, has been trained. Help- what am I doing wrong? When I tried to enter her last year, it kept saying "no races available"

I would add to those instructions that you should train your horse to jump to see if she's a natural, a potential or not suitable for chasing.

Do you have SIMperior? It could be that her horse type is set as Steeplechaser, but she hasn't been converted from a flat horse to a jumper.
So no flat races would be showing up for her since her horse type is set as Steeplechaser, but no steeplechase races would show because she hasn't been converted from flat to chase.
