Wow. Just wow.

That was awesome!

GO STREET SENSE

When they showed the overhead shot during the race I was like... who is that on the rail? Who is that, who is that!?! He was moving so smoothly, just hugging that rail.

Awesome run.

Okay, does everyone else automatically have Triple Crown fever?

Think he can do it?

He was my logical pick and when they said he was 19th I went oh NO but then he didn't drop out and kept running and oh my God ...

Does anyone know where Tiago finished? I was hoping for him to get up there but maybe he ran into traffic problems, couldn't get out from behind the wall of horses?

Just have to say - Street Sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was screaming the whole time they were showing the overhead shot. It looked like he was going to be blocked a couple of times but a spot always opened, and then he shot through that hole in the end. It was awesome.

That was an amazing run from Street Sense! The way he was able to pull away from the other horses. I knew I liked him somewhat but wow! That was just amazing, I'm going to sleep well tonight!

That was a nice run... love the 19th place to win and on the rail too. Wow!

Tiago didn't do as well as I had hoped, but that's horse racing. I have a renewed respect for Street Sense and wish him well on the journey for the Triple Crown. I think had any horse being blocked in or anything had an open shot at Street Sense, he would have still won it today - just had that "extra" gear today. Impressive!

Now can he do what hasn't been done since 1978?

I only just now went to look at the full chart. Check this out:

Street Sense (1st): 18 - 19 - 17 - 3 - 1 - 1
Hard Spun (2nd): 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2
Curlin (3rd): 13 - 13 - 14 - 8 - 6 - 3
Imawildandcrzyguy (4th): 20 - 20 - 20 - 16 - 11 - 4
Sedgefield (5th): 5 - 5 - 3 - 2 - 3 - 5
Circular Quay (6th): 19 - 18 - 16 - 13 - 8 - 6
Tiago (7th): 17 - 17 - 18 - 15 - 12 - 7

Of the top 7 finishers, 5 were 13th or worse early on. The four horses at the back of the pack at the half finished 7th, 6th, 1st, and 4th. Curlin wasn't as far back but moved up really well. Sedgefield basically held position.

What happened to the leaders at the half? Cowtown Cat (finished last), Teuflesburg (17th), Stormello (19th), and of course Hard Spun finished 2nd.

Hard Spun is even more awesome than I had realized earlier. Sedgefield didn't do half bad either. And Imawildandcrzyguy? From 16th to 4th in a quarter mile? Pretty darn good. :)
You're not getting a dead button...in fits of rage, John Slotman and Ara Davies and Jolene Danner would literally kill half their barns.

Once he was passed, Hard Spun didn't lose an inch of ground to Street Sense. It was almost as if Pino was completely unprepared for Street Sense's move in the stretch.
