2nd SIM Olympics

Post by The Steward »

Starts in a week or so, with both team and individual events. I am going to let you vote on how to do teams this year, majority rules, votes due by Monday.

It would be fun to play, but I just know I won't have the time.

As Jon Smythe no longer exists, I think Karl Smythe should be considered a 'new player' for the simolympics :)

I just hope one team isn't completely loaded like last time. Other than that, it was fun.

WOOOO! Maybe I'll be a little bit more contributive this time, since I think some of the events included having your horses race and my horses tanked XD

My only recommendation is perhaps have participants sign a "contract" of sorts, to minimize those players who drop out half way through. I know we had team communication issues, with half our team dropping out or not being active.

I didn't mind it last time, but found myself not being able to contribute much as I didn't have the horses needed for the majority of the events. It sucked being just the team cheerleader. :P

As someone who has no vested interest in this since I likely will wait to decide on participation until I know a little more about how the format is set up, events involved, etc. I would recommend a blend of the two options. Set out guidelines for the composition of teams (I think this was a suggestion the last time around) so that people have the option to submit well-balanced teams, and assign anyone else who doesn't submit a self-formed team.

There are enough people that I think would prefer it both ways to make it worth while.
