Belt a Ballad is a quarter horse stakes filly, my first stakes winner as a matter of fact. She is a two year old, so she has only raced five times. I won her in last year's Mixed up Program Steward's Cup Handicapping Contest as the grand prize, and I am glad I claimed her instead of another prize.

Belt a Ballad's dam, Weeki, died while foaling recently (I didn't realize until now).
She was the winner of the Year 32 Steward's Cup Quarters Distaff!

Okay, I need some advice. This is my first horse that I will run in the Steward's Cup, and I was wondering how you guys think I should train her so that she is at her peak for the SC. She is running week 14 Wednsday, and then she will have to make a long journey to a farm a mile from Ruidoso Downs. Will this take to much out of her before the SC? What would you guys do?

She'll be fine, she's racing at Tulsa, so it is not a very long ship to Ruidoso Raceway. Just ship her to a farm after the race and she'll be good to go.

I really hope that Ballad can run a speed figure over 80, because I think that she will need to in order to win this race.

Plus the vet said that she should go one more day without racing, and she races tonight... oops!

Well, Belt a Ballad sadly finished fourth out of five horses in her final Steward's Cup prep. Oh well, the vet said that she wasn't 100% ready to race anyway, but it was too late to scratch.. She will still be going to the Steward's Cup, though!
