2016 Foaling Contest

Hello lovelies!

We’ve done this twice before, but is everyone ready to do The Foaling Contest for a FOURTH time?

So here is the gist of what you have to do:
Review the information provided for you, and make your best guess as to the date that the mare will deliver, the time she will deliver, the color of the foal, and the gender of the foal. I reserve the right that you only guess ONCE per mare (to make things easier on me). In return, I will write down all the contestants’ guesses and I will provide updates and more information on how the pregnancy goes as she gets closer to her due date. Those who are the closest to the actual foal born will win prizes. And, of course, there will be first and second-place prizes, as well!

This is her first foal.
Her DUE DATE is approximately February 13, 2016.

Mare #2 - Claire
10 y/o Chestnut Quarter Horse mare - star, 1 sock
She is bred to a BAY Quarter Horse stallion named Its A Southern Thing
She's a seasoned broodmare, with her last foal being in 2015.
Her DUE DATE is approximately March 20, 2016.

Mare #3 - Maybe
6 y/o Chestnut Quarter Horse mare - blaze, 2 hind stockings (yay chrome!)
She is bred to a BAY Quarter Horse stallion named Its A Southern Thing
She has had 2 foals to date, with her last foal being in 2015.
Her DUE DATE is approximately April 20, 2016.

Mare #4 - Red
20 y/o Chestnut Quarter Horse mare - star
She is bred to a RED ROAN Quarter Horse stallion named The Rock
She has had numerous foals to date, with her last being in 2014. (She's been in this contest before!)

Our cameras are generally on - all you have to do is register with the MS forums to view the cams. They may be closed because of spam accounts but you should be able to email the administrator and they can get your account added!

Update #1: Over the last week-ish, Lazy has really made udder developments. She's a maiden so they're kind of on their own time and they don't go by the book. I did a pH test on her last night and it read approximately 7.2, so we're still little ways off but not far! She's definitely getting into the miserable stage.

After finally having a few moments to sit down and really look at my yearlings, I've come up with several yearlings that will be offered as the winning prize in addition to GPs on the remaining mares.

ALL yearlings are stakes-galloping yearlings as of the beginning of the SIM year and they've only been worked once (without equipment). Admittedly, their dams' offspring has been a bit mismanaged as I got caught up with my personal life. What I plan on doing is randomly picking each yearling for the winner.
