Sorry to hear of his passing, he was something to see in his hayday. Finished with a record of 94: 71-10-6
RIP Mack, you were one of the Greats.

Lori, I just found your post, searching for something else and I have to admit I wasn't aware of Mack Lobell having passed this year. 32 years old!

I have fond memories of him winning the Elitlopp in 1988. My whole family was gathered watching him win the race on national TV. Back then we only had two channels but they always aired The Elitlopp the last sunday in May. Still do.

I wished to share this video of him and his driver John D Campbell as I think it shows both the joy and enthusiasm for standardbred trot racing in our country, the greatness of Mack Lobell and John D Campbell's love for the sport, his horsemanship and his understanding of Mack Lobell.

Mack Lobell returned to the Elitlopp as a 5yo in 1989 winning a second time.
