A Burning Desire
A Burning Desire
by Ain't Dead Yet-A Burning Star (Strike A Fire)
I have bred several mixer freaks throughout my time here in the SIM, and all but two of them failed to perform to my desired expectations. Irish Charlatan being one, she was my second Steward's Cup winner, and now A Burning Desire being the other. His dam is a blue hen, also a very sad one at that, but for the past two years she has given me a freak. The first of which being A Burning Desire himself. For the first week or so into Year 44 A Burning Desire had the fastest 100yd workout time in the history of the SIM. It fell but he is among the several with the second fastest workout time going 100yds ever.
Naturally I was still wary of a speedy workout time no matter how nice. Well, the sharp looking bay didn't let me down and broke his maiden with a 90SF. I just hope he transitions that speed into stakes races!
2 Year Old Season
Maiden Special Weight - Win - 90SF
Catch Not Drop Stakes - Win - 90SF
Gr.1 Houston Futurity - Second - 91SF
Gr.1 California Futurity - Win - 92SF

Re: A Burning Desire
A Burning Desire is targeting the Grade 1 California Futurity next week, and meanwhile his little sister by Robespierre (The Supreme Being) goes zoom zoom in her latest work. She equaled her bother's fastest time of :6.14 for 100yds.
You might think her name pretentious, but it's not there is a little backstory to it. Robespierre, her sire, was named after a real life figure from the French Revolution. Robespierre believe in deism, and he specifically believe in the Cult of the Supreme Being. This filly is his only freak so far either Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred so I felt the name The Supreme Being fit. Here is her lovely headshot:
They have a little sister, who like A Burning Desire is sired by Ain't Dead Yet, and her name is A Burning Passion. Since their dam A Burning Star has produced two freaks in a row I finally ordered a headshot for her:
Next year she visits If Looks Could!

Re: A Burning Desire
Well after winning that Grade 1 things were fairly quiet. A Burning Desire didn't finish the year so hot, off the board in the SC actually. However, he returned to form now at 3 with a win in a minor stakes and now a win in a Grade 1.
Last night he became my first two time Grade 1 winning mixer.
