Re: AW Allowance or Better
Finally got my gallop results over the weekend. Rather pleased with the results, as I recorded a record number of allowances, nearly double my % from last year's crop:
3 Stakes (2%)
44 Allowance (30%)
21 Productive (14%)
25 Solid (17%)
54 Claimer (36%)
1 Different Career (1%)
STAKES
The Crowd Cheers (Steward-bred)
Louis the King (Steward-bred)
Dee Majesty
ALLOWANCE
Abashiri x5
Admire Daio
Air Spinel
Benjamin x3
Dee Majesty
Highland Reel
Leontes
Live the Dream x20
Lovely Day
Satono Diamond
Staphanos x2
Thermodynamic x2
Trahan x4
______________________________________________
On an unrelated note, if you are keeping up with the TBS sires and/or new sires, here is a breakdown of my gallop results:
Admire Daio (3) - 1 allowance, 1 productive, 1 claimer
Air Spinel (4) - 1 allowance, 1 solid, 2 claimer
Dee Majesty (2) - 1 stakes, 1 allowance
Francis (3) - 1 productive, 1 solid, 1 claimer
Highland Reel (1) - 1 allowance
I'll Have Another (1) - 1 productive
Leontes (3) - 1 allowance, 1 productive, 1 solid
Satono Diamond (4) - 1 allowance, 1 productive, 2 claimer
Staphanos (2) - 2 allowance
Thermodynamic (4) - 2 allowance, 1 productive, 1 solid
Trahan (4) - 4 allowance
I tried sending more of my better mares to outside stallions last year, after lackluster gallop results from my yearling crop (now 2yos). It seems to have paid off. I got much better results from Trahan and Thermo both (although 4 for 4 for Trahan is pretty significant). I was quite surprised with Dee Majesty and Staphanos, so I'll be sending more their way. Highland Reel is intriguing, but I don't know how much AW ability he has because I only bred one and copied Em's breeding (Gleneagles x Agoura); for all I know it could end up a turf miler. Leontes looks like a solid alternative to Admire Daio/Epiphaneia if you're strapped for cash. Air Spinel and Satono Diamond are hit and miss, but still have good results if you have quality mares.

Re: AW Allowance or Better
I have 3 allowance foals out of this year's batch. No stakes.
Abashiri
D's Tapeta
Thermodynamic
Trahan and Thermo seem to be taking turns as to who loves me more. Trahan was last year. Thermo this year.
Last year I had allowances from Thermo, Trahan, Able Friend, and Mount Robinson. I also have a Steward Bred Stakes from Thermo.
