Want to own your own racetrack? Starting Year 49, you will be able to create your own, and card your own races!
Racetracks cost 215,000 Game Points per year. If you renew them over the break, all the races will be carded again for the following year, and you could edit them as you see fit.
First, select a racetrack name and location (longitude and latitude). Then select one breed or surface specialist (Steeplechasing, All Weather, Quarter Horses/Arabs/Appys/Paints, Standardbreds (both trotters and pacers), or regular flat Thoroughbreds on dirt and turf, etc). Each week, you can card the following:
2 maiden claiming/claiming races
4 maiden special weight, allowance, or non winners races
ONE stakes race. You can have two grade 3’s, two grade 2’s, and two grade 1’s per year. The other ten weeks must be a listed level stakes race of $75,000. Non-graded stakes or other races can be stakes restricted. The total value of these races over the year is 274,000 game points, so you will save 59,000 game points on them each year. In addition, you can use any additional game points to sponsor more races at your own track as per regular rules (racetracks you own don’t count towards races sponsored that week).
Just like farms, you will set and receive your own board at the tracks you own. Because this is the first year we are doing this, if you decide to buy, please send your list of races in chunks to the Steward (you don’t have to card all 16 weeks in one sitting), who will card them for you on the game. If this is successful, we will build an automated system over year 49 for Year 50.
To buy a racetrack, please message the Steward with your track name, location, and track type, as well as board price. Then you will be underway!
To RENEW your racetrack, go to My Office tab, then Farms/Tracks, and follow the renewal procedure from there. If you decide not to renew your track, the races and track itself become property of SIMHorseRacing and we can run those races in subsequent years or sell them to other players.

Re: Owning A Racetrack
Updated 3/17/19 - You can now edit your own races!
Own a racetrack? Instead of sending requests to the Steward to make changes for the year, you can do it yourself with any races that are not yet open for entries. Go to "Farms/Tracks" from the My Office --> My Info drop down. You can select the year of races from a new column on the tracks table, and scroll until you find your current races. Any changes you make during the current year will also be done to the next year's races. When the year turns over you will be able to edit that year's races. (For example, right now you can edit Year 52 races, and the day the year turns over you will have access to editing Year 53 races if you have renewed your track).
To initiate an edit, click the EDIT button at the end of the race description. This will walk you through the process as if you were sponsoring the race from scratch.
Notes: You can not currently change the grades/purses of your stakes races, this must still be done by the Steward, who must also still "start" the tracks and first year of races by hand (but that update is coming soon!).
