I'd like to point out how incredibly lucky we are to have both Dan and Garret in the SIM to do things like this, SIM 50 for 50 and the AW stats. Truly great work fellas and thank you both!!!

And congrats Stormy on Convince Me's Louisville Bunbury win! :D King of Ashes and I plan to get you back at some point in the future :P
Thanks for the congrats : )

I know Convince Me use to be an allowance, but I haven't had any time in his schedule to gallop him and find out if he's just a really good stakes, or if he's a freak. I guess as long as he keeps picking up G1 wins, I can live with the mystery...lol

I didn't get in on this contest, but I have been reading about it...it's a good way to keep track of the competition. 8-)
I was really worried when I read that your horse, King of Ashes, was also a mudder...lol. Convince Me 'Loves Mud' - which sadly...is to his disadvantage most of the time....as it seems like most of the time the sun shines on those big races.

I look forward to the next meeting of our horses : )

Garret was missing the double points for million-dollar races. Other than that I think he had it right. Easy mistake.

Only Me ran a 100 (2:25 flat) in the G1 Desert Turf. Wowzers.
Mauretania needed every bit of her 92 to win the G1 Louisville Bunburette,
Same for Convince Me, who also ran a 92 to take the G1 Louisville Bunbury.
Speak With Fists prevailed in a close three-way finish to the G1 Desert Duty Free with a 91.
Whenyoulovesomeone won the G2 Riddle Me This Stakes with a 90.

Some really interesting early-season trends have developed. I may or may not write about them in the upcoming week.

As you would expect, each round's total points decreases as you go. But there isn't a whole lot of difference between Round 3 and Round 6.

One notable trend that's developed: Some of the older superstars (Summerland, Night's Quiet, Nightmarch) have lost a step. That's been especially true of Night's Quiet, Randall Johnson's No. 1 overall pick whose 12 points to date are less than every other first-round pick and are only ahead of 12 of the 108 horses drafted (not including juveniles who haven't raced yet). Every other one of Johnson's horses has scored more points.

The first round was especially volatile, with Loveless (180), Only Me (140), Speak With Fists (130), Convince Me (124) and Sunday Heartbreak (110) each already passing the 100-point mark, while Night's Quiet (12), Thunder Bay (20), Begging for a Kiss (20), The Escape Room (30) and Nightmarch (40) have underperformed expectations.

Meanwhile, some horses drafted in later rounds have been sensational for their owners. Points leader Laura Smith is in that position for two main reasons: She didn't bomb her first-round pick (Speak With Fists), and her fourth-round pick, Candy (110), is the only horse taken in the second half of the draft who currently has scored in triple figures.

By Your Side, Garret Folsom's first-rounder, has been merely OK with 50 points, but his next two picks, Goodnite Goodnite (110) and Whenyoulovesomeone (80), have been very good and have Folsom sitting in second.

Todd Lucas nailed his first-round choice (Only Me), who scored a huge win in the Desert Turf, but he also hit it big with third-rounder Mauretania (100), a big reason why he sits third in the standings.

Sean Gallagher scored big with both of his first two picks, as Sunday Heartbreak and John Glenn (100) have lifted him to fourth place.

There's a handful of horses who have yet to score a point, but you have to feel especially bad for Mel Lankford, who drafted A Blind Eye in the third round, only to have the undefeated colt (3-for-3 last year as a juvenile) not even run a race this year (I'm assuming owner Bob Oliva has gone missing?) ... that's just cruel.

Bob logged in on Friday. Somehow, he’s just missed entering that horse.

I blame the new barns. If you miss slating them in a specific barn, you can loose track.

Nick I noticed it too that Bob had logged in on 6/22/18. But he has not entered any horses since year 49.
