As per Mike’s new freak, I’m so jealous, lol. Best of luck with her Mike and the original name worked better I think.

The real question is what kind?
I prefer the more marbled types.

Re: Curiosity: Horses Who've Changed Gallop
I had a horse go from solid to claimer this year, but my biggest gallop change was this guy: Time to Celebrate. I was fairly new to the game and got him off of AJ for $1000. He galloped productive. I didn't realize his bloodlines, being a newbie, and so I gelded him and got the $1000 back. He won a stakes race at Trial Park with a 91 SF year 34 week 9 and then I learned about gallop changes; he re-galloped scary/special. Still kicking myself for that one, but he was a lot of fun to race with and got me hooked on the game.

I’m disturbed. My brain can’t handle “horses” and “steak” in the same conversation. It’s grossing me out.

I have had only one go from productive to Stakes and that was after a gelding too. All the rest of my horses since all downgrade for changes. I am not lucky enough for upgrades.

Re: Curiosity: Horses Who've Changed Gallop
I rarely re-gallop once they are racing, but I have two that I can remember:
Celtic Twilight - Yeats x Written By (Novellist) started as a productive, jumped to freak at two.
And her daughter How Far We've Come by A Shin Hikari started as a productive and moved up to stakes at two.

Re: Curiosity: Horses Who've Changed Gallop
Sorry to dig this back up.
I bred this guy and he was a claimer. Sold him dirt cheap when I just didn't feel like dealing with him. Kept an eye on him after he was sold and was happy to see somebody doing well with him.
Saw he dropped to AJ and decided to just buy him back and retire him. Before doing so, I galloped him and he's stakes now, so that's an awesome jump! Feel silly for ditchin the guy earlier.

Re: Curiosity: Horses Who've Changed Gallop
I've only seen one ... my entire time playing the SIM. And, it was recently.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=767224
It was part of a complex trade deal. I'm pretty sure I inherited this one, and it (probably) happened long before I got it?
Probably had lots like this old guy. I just let five or six drops in race conditions lead me to that conclusion.
I know one thing. If Mary Weather were allowed to play, she would have a much higher OTB percentage than I have.

I always pay attention when Eric Hamme talks about horses running in Maryland.
