It seems odd that the races are for 3yo & up when all other GP stakes are for first year runners. So technically a horse could race multiple years in the GP stakes. :?

Interestingly there were only 2 resp. 3 3year olds entering the GP races... so my 5 yo managed to grab a 4th spot :)
Dont tell anyone else with 3yo GP sired until after W14 races please ;)
I didnt breed any GP sired chasers in year 48...

Are any more changes likely to be made in the wake of those results on Monday?

It seems from those that our current 4yo plus horses won't be able to compete with the current 3yo next year despite the fix.

The 3yo wiped the floor with the older horses in the GP sired chases again this week.

At this rate we might as well retire everything 4yrs and older.

I find this division of the game is getting more and more ridiculous. Steeplechasers are supposed to get better as they get older, not worse. I have 4yr olds who won multiple stakes races at 3, that now cant fight there way out of a paper bag, yes every division has this happen, but not on the scale chasers do.

The more bandaids that are applied to the chasers, instead of fixing the problems they are making things worse, all we want is a level playing field, and that wont happen as things stand.

Im at the "why bother with chasers" the problems dont appear to be fixed, we never get any definitive answers to questions asked on here about the issues from the steward and its basically like it or lump it response if we do.

We did, and you didn't do anything to fix the reason why we are unhappy!
