After several longshots hit the board in the first race (no one had the second place finisher), there is a 7 way tie for first, at $27.00 ($18+$9+$6 minus the $6 bet) for the lead. A total of 57 people have entered!

Several people had the second and third place finishers.

After two races, we have a tie for the lead:

Daryl Dennis and Emma Lochran, with $30.40 each

A tie for third:

The Steward and Doug Kidwell, with $28.80 each

And three others are tied for fifth with $21.00 each.

There's still a long way to go, and it could still be anybody's race to win!

Here's where we are going into Saturday (at which point, Emma will take a first stab at scoring, as I'll be out of town. I'll doublecheck and post the top three finishers sometime Monday):

Jack Johns vaulted to the lead, with a bankroll of $31.80.

Daryl Dennis and Emma Lochran are tied for second with $24.40

Doug Kidwell and The Steward are tied for fourth with $22.80.

Since the absolute worst you can be at this point is (-$18.00), which is less than $50 away from the leader, it is still anyone's contest to win going into Saturday and the final 8 races of the contest. Best of luck to everyone, and may the horse be with you! (since I'm quoting Pack).

One correction to the above - I'd inadvertently entered the 10 (the race number) instead of the 6 (the post position) for A Ryan in the third race. That correction brings her total to $24.60, or second place. Thanks to Emma for catching that!
