SIM Mini Brags
Fun thread? I’m not sure...I may just be SUPER excited that I won 2 G1 races during the same post time, on the same day, for the first time ever!
For Ev Er in the Great White Plate, and Schwanky in the Gold Reef Mile Stakes . Schwanky was also my first ever homebred stakes TM super happy she got a G1 win!

Re: SIM Mini Brags
Last Friday night I had 7 winners of 14 starters with my Derby runner winning a G1 and going into the Derby 5 for 5. Only the second time I had 7 winners in one night. Not bad for a stable with just 23 active runners.

I probably have 2 of the better AWS 2 year old right now. A huge jump from almost no non-claiming competitive 3 year olds
yeah

My racehorses have picked it up recently which is nice, but it’s my 2yos which are something to brag about. This filly for example, who broke the 58 second barrier today:

Re: SIM Mini Brags
My itty bitty brag, is about an older mare I found.
So, last year, Week 12, I bought this mare from AJ.
She was 5 years old, hadn't been raced, or even named for that matter.
So, I gave her a name, and spent a few weeks trying to get her in shape to race. It also turned out that she loves mud...so that make it a bit more difficult to find races for her too, as those can be kind of scarce at times. She was also a claimer type, but I don't run my horses in claimer races...so that narrowed down the race choices by quite a bit too.
New Day
I'm pretty happy she's finished on the board in each of her 3 races.
At age 6 now, she's paid back the $5,000 purchase price, plus some. I am hoping by the end of the year, she'll maybe even top $30,000 in earnings.
I'm also hoping she takes after her dam, when she becomes a broodmare!
Her Dam: The Flamingo
Of her 9 foals, 8 have raced, and the other is an unnamed 9 year old gelding who never raced.
Of the 8 who raced...5 of them earned over $100,000 on the track...which isn't shabby at all.
Yeah, there are mares out there who have foals that have each won over $500,000 on up...but I would be pleased if my little $5,000 AJ purchase ended up throwing me a few 6 digit earners.
I will let her race out her 6 year old season, then retire her - it would be a hoot if she turns out to be a formidable or better as a broodmare. Sometimes I have as much fun with my goobers as I do my big stake horses...and the goobers don't make me stress at all...unlike the big horses do, lol.

I'm sitting $99,110 away from hitting $100,000,000 in career earnings. I should reach that level on Monday night.

Re: SIM Mini Brags
Eh why not, I’ll have another little brag!
Yesterday, I won 3 Grade 1’s! One in Europe, and 2 in NA. I’ve done this once before in year 54 (also week 10 funnily enough) when I won in Asia, Europe and NA (but that time the Asia race was sponsored). The ones last night were CLOSE though:
Neck
Nose
Dead-heat
