Baby Shark Doo Doo
I present to you,
Baby Shark Doo Doo
- Why is that her name, you ask? Well, I am a ding-dong and forgot that the fish name is MARLIN, not Merlin, and I thought I was being funny. I realized my mistake, but chose to leave her name as-is.
She is making it into this forum because I just think she is cool as heck!
I saw her at auction as a two year old, but I actually had my eye on two other horses in the auction, and wasn't really interested in her. I ended up getting outbid on the two horses, so I decided at last minute to throw a bid down on her. I didn't love her pedigree, but I figured getting another "Stakes" galloper into my stable, one of racing age, wouldn't hurt. Upon getting her, I discovered that she was a Late Bloomer, and come week nine she jumped to Freak. I was so excited.
With the new gallop adjustments at rollover, she dropped back down to Stakes, but I think she is a pretty high Stakes.
As of now, her highest speed figure is a 96, which tickles me, and she is a Grade 2 winner. I have her entered in The Oaks, but I don't expect much... It's more for fun than anything else. Ultimately, she will probably end up just being a superb Grade 2/Grade 3 horse
I'm really looking forward to the adventure that the rest of her racing career will likely be! She is the best $250,000 I have ever spent!

I remember the story of her name. Kinda hard not to cheer for her just because of that!

Guys, I love this filly so much! Second in the Oaks, against some seriously classy fillies!
I think this might actually be the first horse I have ever owned in the SIM that I would never consider selling.
I'm not sure where she is going to run next, but her future certainly looks bright... I think it might be time to budget a headshot

I kinda want to punch her in the face after her finish in the Clearwater Oaks last night, but luckily she's cute.

That race was comically bad, you just have to throw it out. Sometimes they do that, luckily they rarely do it often!

Re: Baby Shark Doo Doo
Baby Shark Doo Doo returned to her wonderful ways with a gutsy gate-to-wire win in the Grade 2 Wilmington Oaks tonight!
She's hitting the Giant Risk stakes in two weeks.
I'm undecided about the SC Distaff. It's tempting, but she's only three years old and seems to do her best running at 1 /16. We shall see.

Re: Baby Shark Doo Doo
Wow, it's been a while since I updated this thread. My Sharky girl didn't do so hot in the Distaff, and I ended up retiring her. She's now well into motherhood and has exceeded my expectations, throwing 2 Freaks and a Stakes out of her current training-age offspring.
However, tonight she really made me smile when she became a Grade 1 producer!!
Her two year old War Like Me daughter, Battleships, had a gutsy win in the G1 Inglewood Starlet. ~~ CONGRATS CAROLE ~~ I love seeing horses i've bred be successful, I find the breeding end of this game intimidating and I often feel like I have no idea what i'm doing, so when something like this happens, it's pretty affirming.
