Halley has retired with a record of 35: 12-5-8 and earnings of $1,343,000. Congratulations to It's Giving Slay for her win in the Synthetic Speed! Autumn can confirm with everyone that of the horses I predicted to be the top six, five of them were in the top six (and were the top five - though I didn't predict an order of finish as it was such a tough field!)

Halley is a mama. I let the randomizer select everything except that I wanted the foal to also be a dark bay. Takes after Halley in soundness (very sound) and heart (brave).

Halley's first foal, Sally Ride, is a stakes late bloomer, very sound, brave, and breeding shed comment! She was the only foal I was truly nervous about galloping.

Halley was also originally a stakes late bloomer, so Sally Ride is identical to her in stats in almost every way: Halley was a longer career mare, so the yearling has her one-upped in that sense!

Halley is nominated for two Simmy Awards - All Weather Champion Older Female and All Weather Champion Sprinter! I look at some of the names she's alongside and even though she had such a good year and set a record time, I still feel some level of imposter syndrome seeing a horse I bred and raced even being on those ballots

Halley's first foal, Sally Ride, now has an absolutely stunning headshot.



Even if she winds up being a 'sad stakes,' which I'm hoping not, and hoping she may bloom to a freak like her mother, she does have the breeding shed comment, so she may earn the headshot in the broodmare barn if she doesn't on the track!

Halley's second foal is a colt! Both years I allowed the gender and marking to be random, but chose dark bay as the color.

It took me a long time to decide who to send her to this year and I didn't make the choice I had a feeling I was going to make all year, but I have good hopes for this boy, especially given his half-sister's stats as stakes late bloomer.

Next year, I may see if anyone is interested in leasing her.

I was SO sure Halley's dam would try to die on me when I bred her this year; ditto Autumn with Solarpunk's dam, so we coordinated and bred them both at the same time expecting them to pension together...but they both lived so I guess we'll see about next year

Bred Circus Kitten back to Mattawan since her three year old colt by him is allowance and Halley's two year old by him is stakes.

Halley is up for lease this year, in this auction. This is (probably, but I can't guarantee anything) the only time I'll be letting her out of my barn. Auction ends August 23rd at noon Eastern Time.

Halley has her third foal and second daughter, a lovely little filly by Lloyd's Keeping It: 68 Halley

Her first two foals are very sound, so I'm hoping this filly will inherit her dam's soundness as well. (I am not sure what LKI's soundness is.)
