I am assuming that means he can run sprints and routes but maybe I am wrong. If he could win well at both distances that would be awesome. So what should I read into it. Should I try him at a sprint distance later on or just stick with his routing since he is winning at those distances.

There have been other posts where versatile, in many cases, means middle distance/miler. The problem is, Arabians don't have miler races. There's a small chance an Arabian versatile can cover all three distances, but odds are, it really means mile rather than sprint.
