I screwed up too many times and left no room for error. After 4 straight 10 furlong losses, some of which he still ran very well in, and going weeks 6-8-10, there was just no way to pivot and get him back to marathons, get his confidence back AND give him a stiff enough test all in one race to be ready for the SC. Barrier trials literally never work for me, so I'd already considered it and discarded it as an option.

So, he is retired after his 20th start and crossing the $2 million mark in earnings. His hypo grades are every bit as good as his sire's and grandsire's, both of whom really only ever got topped by the freakish Allonsy/DMB/War Like Me/VoF types. Introductory fee is $30,000.

Bonus, he is both brave and sound. And a graded stakes winner from 8.5 furlongs to 2 miles. As a four year old, he won graded events from 9 furlongs to 2 miles with great speed figures, so within the routing division, I expect him to have some versatility as a sire.

First A+ nick I've gotten to Browncoat! I have precious few mares that will actually get an A+. This particular mare is a flat A to Can't Take the Sky, so she doesn't get the plus with everything.
