Glad I didn't rage retire this horse when she was taking nine tries to break her maiden. She's been doing her best work at 5½-6 years of age... threw her in the Million Dollar Maturity thinking she might luck into a little check, instead she lucked into a big one. Makes me think I should keep more horses in training for longer, but retiring the "middling" mares at 3-4 is an easy way to keep the racing barn from becoming ludicrously bloated... until I end up breeding them all, of course.
