Happy Midseason Festivus!
Tomorrow it is time! It's Mid season gallop and time to see if you have any improvers! : D
How do you do your gallops to avoid injuries on your racers? Do you gallop everyone at the same time, or divide them depending on their racing schedule?

I divide them depending on their race schedule. I like to gallop either a week before or a week after they race to hopefully limit any issues caused by the gallop.

Re: Happy Midseason Festivus!
I use the GP option for the actively racing horses (small barn!) and gallop everything unraced.

Re: Happy Midseason Festivus!
I really only care to know about the horses I'm excited or just particularly curious about. If the horse isn't in a break, I'll use game points. Otherwise I'll often just wait until the horse has a break and then gallop in the middle of the break.

I usually don't check my actively racing horses, though if one looks like they've gotten noticeably better/worse and I am curious I might use the GP option.

Re: Happy Midseason Festivus!
I have NEVER injured a horse by galloping directly after a race , and I mean within minutes, and I do it quite often to see if I want to retire a disappointer. Of course they then get a little extra rest

I don’t worry about training once they hit the track. Mostly, I’ll be galloping all yearlings and 2-3 year old late bloomers. They won’t run until the peak.

I am not %100 sure but I think you have to wait for barrier races to be over before you can gallop

FIVE?! new freaks for me, I'm shocked but very thrilled. (please be fast, please be fast)
Infinity Stones a half sister to Captain Marvel, and now the second freak for her dam. Love love love this family. Freaking Thanos lmao
Siesta
Space Between Us
Spell Check makes two crops in a row with a TS freak for me, really thrilled with how my barn is coming along in that division
Symmetry
And at least two new stakes (sired by Bannerlord and Owl Show You), although plenty didn't get checked/galloped.

Heart Stopper went from Allowance LB to Freak Peak?! Quite an unexpected jump!
Plus the normal allowance LB to stakes Peak, and Stakes LB to Freak Peak ones

Re: Happy Midseason Festivus!
Had 3 2yo (2 All Weather Routers and 1 Turf Router) went from Allowance-LB to Stakes-Peak and they haven't raced yet so looking forward to seeing how these 2yo do when they hit the track.
Had several more Allowance-LB or Allowance-Progressive go to Stakes-Peak including a my first two stock racing horse Stakes-Peak.
Had one arabian go from Stakes-LB to Freak-Peak. Even checked my 4yo Freaky boy to see if he was still a Freak-Peak and he is so I am hoping he can hold on to it for another year (he is 4 right now and I really want to see him keep that through the end of his 5yo year before I retire him to stud).
Overall it was a good midseason festivus for me.
