Gelding World Cup - Year 66

It's that time of year! Can you believe it? This year's Steward's Cup is at The Spa (again), so we’ll join in (any all weather races could be at Artificial Arena, mixers at Mixed Up Downs, harness at The Meadowfields and steeplechases at Chaser Downs). If people want to sponsor additional steeplechases/all weather/mixed breed races, please feel free - the more the merrier!

The dirt and turf races will once again be run on Week 16 THURSDAY, with the baby races. That gives them a little more attention, so they're not lost in the glom of Week 16 Friday races. The steeplechase and all weather races will be run on Week 16 MONDAY, and if anyone wants to sponsor a mixed breed/harness race, they'd obviously be on the Wednesday

Here are last year's races and sponsors - I'll let last year's sponsors have first crack at doing it again, but if for whatever reason, they can't/don't, I'll open them up for someone else to sponsor on Thursday, February 29th (and feel free to downgrade/upgrade the stakes in terms of purse/grade; whatever works for your finances). Please do not jump in prior to February 29th to sponsor an existing race that was not sponsored by you last SIM year unless the sponsor has posted they're not sponsoring this year. Thank you! That said, if you want to create/sponsor a brand new race or resurrect one that was not held last year, please feel free to do that at any time.

There is a cure for this... Considering the amount of years (and I don't mean seasons) that this particular "event" has successfully survived. You could negate the problem of getting breeders remorse from this thread by officially adding the races permanently to the annual racing calendar.

I COULD, but it's kind of an amazingly fun, player sponsored event, where everyone comes together and makes it happen. I like that. Camaraderie!

Plus, if the SIM put on the event, how would I ever remember to breed my mares?
