Entering Your horse article

Post by Art K Stables »

Altering checking the advice I’d have to say as a vet player the advice given from points 2 and on are generally good points.. however point 1 and 1.5 I think need some slight corrections .. first if you work a horse , it’s still not likely to be rested one week later .. if you workout a horse , that horse will be totally fit 2 weeks later .. Secondly on the soundness ., if it says typical run of the mill, that horse can run 2 weeks apart a couple of times before needing that 3 week break .. A very sound horse says 7 to 9 , that means 2 weeks or even the occasional 1.5 weeks is ok .. so example for a typical horse running wk 1 day 5 , week 3 day 5 , wk 5 day 5 then week 8 day 5 is likely best .. a very sound could go wk 1.5 then week 3 day 1 week 5 day 1 week6 day 5 wk 8day 5 .. so in short the article underestimates the rest needed for a workout and overestimates slightly the rest needed based on soundness
