I did have two improvers to freak - Loved Like Her (Arizona) and Short Order Work (Mace). And Loved Like Her's dam was up for sale so I just snagged her too!

Ooofff.. I had a season like that the one before Cinema was born. Nearly quit on the spot, so don't blame you for bashing your face against the wall. It always turns around when you have a quality barn like yours though, so keep trying!

First crop and truly an experiment, I used a lot of value stallions and GP stallions where I could.

40 Homebred Foals

2 Stakes - One LB and other progressive (GP studs and I picked up one of the mares from AJ and the other for $5).
3 Allowance - All progressive - one was from a filly I ran in 66 and bred to Black Across. The other two were by GP stallions.
12 Productive - Only one is a peak! Mix of GP stallions and mares I got from AJ.
9 Solids - Only two peaks!
9 Claimers - No Peak!
5 Different Career - No Peak, all from mares I shouldn't have bred and honestly bought a few of them by mistake in the first couple of days I was playing.

TBH, this isn't my first crop ever - I bred my very first mares in Year 1 ( :!: ), but I've been out of the game for a long time.

Woof, this year was not pretty for me. Definitely going to be some changes happening in my broodmare barn (I promise I am not going to accidentally pension all of my studs again unless). Somehow I bred 3 stakes turf routers compared to 1 turf mile which feels like the Sim made a mistake.

My one Freak is (Lightsong x Conqueress of Tisa) . Funnily enough that mare gave me an Allowance that turned into a Freak week 8 of last year , Conquerer of Del , by Lightsong's uncle Glorfindel. Out of my stakes gallopers the one I am most hopeful for is (Shockinglyfamous x Qilin). I have desperately wanted to get a stud out of Qilin for years now and this guy immediately gave me the Breeding Shed comment.

63 thoroughbreds

1 Freak (1.6%)
5 Stakes (7.9%)
24 Allowance (38%)
25 Productive (39.6%)
5 Solid (7.9%)
3 Claimer (4.7%)

64 paints

0 Freaks (Sad trombone noise)
2 Stakes (3.1%)
42 Allowance (65.6%)
19 Productive (29.6%)
1 Solid (1.5%)
0 Claimers (???)

You're braver than me to at least share the stats. I really hope my little group of promising two year olds debut well, because between the yearling gallops and the current form of the active racing string it's looking like a long, slow season.

These are my thoroughbred numbers all turf milers
Stakes = 4 (25%) (Hempstead, Nightwatch, Omniscience x2)
Allowance = 4 (25%)
Productive = 5 (31.25%)
Solid = 1 (6.25%)
Claimer = 2 (12.5%)

Total = 16

About as high as a stakes galloper percent as I've ever gotten but the allowance was on the low side coupled with more productive and below than normal. As usual you win some and lose some.

232 Yearlings

17 Different Careers (all bred to be steeplechasers)
20 Claimers/Solids
79 Productives
98 Allowance
18 Stakes
0 Freaks

I was so happy to see that my A+ Turf Router galloped a Stakes-LB (looking forward to seeing if this guy can achieve freak). I also had 3 more stakes TB gallopers (all were All Weather Sprinters and one twin set (never had a twin set gallop stakes together although different improvements, mine have always had one gallop better than the other). I have 14 Stakes Arabian gallopers so loving that(several potential freaks in the future).

I really don't want to train the productives and I had thought of offering people free leases to train and race my productives until there 5yo year where they are returned back to me to retire. Most productives are mixed breeds with a hand full of TB (turf or all weather).

I did have one surprise where a steeplechaser actually galloped Productive-LB where they were a B hypo and are A- in steeplechasing.
