Dirt Miler Festivus

Post by Randell Johnson »

I liked looking at the other forum threads of specific gallop results, so I figured I would open this one to any Dirt Miler people out there.

How did everyone do for their DM horses?

My results were:
1 Freak: 66 Sage of Monticello (Cody's Wish) - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1882102
- Out of my beautiful newly retired mare!
1 Stakes
27 Allowances
Gunite - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1785312
DM/DS & Steeplechaser - RL Steward Created, A's & A+'s

Chase Elliott - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1241172

I was a bit disappointed in all my TB dirt yearlings.

DM I have 5 Stakes and 4 Allowance; the rest shall sink quietly into the sunset! Lol

Congrats on such a pretty freak, Randell!

I apparently only bred three pure milers
1 stakes late bloomer by Pismo Beach (with the breeding shed comment) with Midnight the Rabbit
2 allowance (one productive one peak)
I have a stable full of cats

I only dabble (at most) in DM but my best was allowance, seven of them and only one is peak. None have thrown me shed vs longer career yet.

I bred 19 that are not by either of my experimental (and pitiful) stallions. Of these:

Marvelstar got a stakes progressive baby sis https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1842046

Pismo Beach gave me a stakes LB gal https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1846560

And I have

6 allowance improvers. so 42% allowance and above
9 productive improvers and 1 productive peak
1 solid by Cody's Wish out of an Army Mule mare just to aggravate me a little

I have a friend in the UK that has 2 Freak DM yearlings. Interestingly, the dam sire for both was Kentucky Storm.
I believe these are the first homebred freaks my friend has had and I am thrilled for him!

18 dirt milers, all but one are progressive or late bloomers.

2 stakes, 5 allowance, 7 productives, 4 solids. I need to upgrade my dirt miler mares and find some lines that produce horses that peak earlier

12 DM, a couple of nice ones, a few that "should" have done better.

2 stakes colts:

by Elite Power out of an American Mischief stakes winning hen, late bloomer breeding shed (he's already complaining about the weight of my expectations on his back):
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1886479

Elite Power over Holland Road (also handsome):
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1851275

4 Allowance
5 Productive
1 Solid
Nashville Stud
Elite Power | DS/DM/AWS/AWM/AWR | $40,000
Levels | TM | $12,000 with incentives
Kacchan | TM | $3,500

I bred 164 Dirt Miler thoroughbreds (tossed every piece of junk at VoG I could since I don't have to worry about his gallop stats anymore).

It resulted in 0 freaks and 9 stakes.

American Mischief - Jubilation - Prog
Better Days - Vengeance or Grief - Prog
Dassem Ultor - Flightline - LB
Holland Road - Vengeance or Grief (2) - Prog
Holland Road - Chase Elliott - LB
The Threads Burn - Vengeance or Grief - LB
Troika - Kentucky Storm - LB
Vengeance or Grief - Zarley - LB

The last two were from Steward leases where you get to breed a mare, very happy they both turned out nice.
AJR SC Winners: Karsa, Can't Reconcile, The Reckoners, Amsterdam, Forge of Darkness, Nightchill, The Wheel of Time
