I don't want to post too much of what is said on Simperior but this comment has been bothering me...

"While we’re on the subject of this race, one of the entrants carries the game’s highest-rated cross!"

Being a huge fan of the breeding aspect in the game I started to look into it and am curious as to what cross it is so lets take a look.

Chainsaw Symphony- Arizona x Enclosed in Flames (James Dean)

Don Karnage- War Like Me x Amour (James Dean)

Eddystone- Best Revenge x Warrick Street (James Dean)

Foryourconsideration- Academy Award x Hatheer (Happy This Way)

He The Colossus- Acid Test x We Remain (War Like Me)

Heirborne- Kentucky Trophy x Woman Twice Dead (No Day But Today)

Larkspur- Primetime x You're the Reason (Kingdom Come)

Like a G Six- DMB x Stormfall II (Doctor)

Majestic Champion- Champion x Majestic Together (Japanese Majesty)

Owl Know Next Time- Primetime x Owl Let You Know (James Dean)

Pride Rock- Strange the Dreamer x Cruella de Vil (Doctor)

Robin Hood- Christopher Robin x Hakuja (You Are Not Alone)

Rotagilla- Champion x Phil's Tenacity (Excelsior)

Snoopy Dancing- DMB x Moondance (Mr. Wonderful)

Spirited Away- Mace x Return to Innocence (Christopher Robin)

Now admittedly I know very little about horse racing in real life, particularly the verbage but when I think of a cross in the game I first think sire and dam sire cross but looking at some of these sires/dam crosses two main ones stick out. Owl Know Next Time has a premier sire with arguably the greatest horse (let alone mare) this game has ever produced. Besides him, Ultima is the other top sire with a superstar mare.

If we go with my initial thought of sire/dam sire cross I really don't know. I do not see any trends off this group here that stands out. Thoughts?

It’s not the same as a real life cross, but the game’s hypo. Take the dam and hypo to the sire, see what the bloodstock agent says, and viola! A+, Danny should know, lol. Very few of the flat runners get this rating, congrats Danny, well done.

I don't know for sure, just a guess. Could be one of the others as well!

Think he's looking at more than the hypo grade. I bet there's a bunch of A+ crosses in this field.

I feel like being the entire game's highest rated cross lends itself to more than hypo. I have a DR mare who hypos A+ to over 130 studs... I doubt anything she has produced would be even close to considered a top cross in the whole game. My money is on Ultima being who the Entry Clerk is Referring to. That Mace x Let It Go damline cross looks hot.

If we are looking at the success of the sire x damsire cross by earnings, then Don Karnage is up there with War Like Me x James Dean. His cross has 3 millionaires (something the others doesn't have). I might be completely wrong though because this is only based on older siblings success.

In the edge it says "one of the entrants carries the game’s highest-rated cross". But there is two Primetime x James Dean horses, so maybe not them?
(thought both are lovely horses!)
