This little known mare who never shined on the track certainly shined in the breeding shed.
She is the daughter of Storm Cat and out of a Marquee de Lys daughter.
Out of 6 offspring she currently has 4 either have won a stakes race or are multi stakes winners, one is stakes placed against a top colt in his division, and one has yet to start her career.

Her most well known offspring is Moved To Tears(Tulloch) who is the dam of Tears of the Stars(Star Studded). But her other offspring include Don'tcryatmidnight(No Tears Here), Tears of Triumph(Tulloch), Tearsfromtheheart(Punishment), Tearstreaked(Crystal Night) and Tears of Darkness(Afterdark).

Her 2yr old Tears of Triumph is a full sibling to Moved To Tears. He has already been stakes placed and looks to get better with age. Her 5yr old daughter Tearstreaked will hit the racetrack once again to try and win the Hong Kong Vase twice(although if she indicate early on that she would rather be a mom then she will go back to her home farm and retire), Her 4yr old daughter Tearsfromtheheart is hoping to get a few more stakes wins under her saddle blanket before she retires. But perhaps for Whispering Pines the most interesting of her current racing age offspring is the 2 yr old filly Tears of Darkness. This filly is currently the only offspring of champion turf horse Afterdark. What is causing a stir in the barn is the bringing in of the incredible lines of Fiji into this cross plus Afterdark was sired by Crystal Night who is already proven to be a good cross with Storm of Tears.

Time will tell whether this filly lives up to the hopes Whispering Pines has for her.
