Yes, definitely, Chuck.

It's at Santa Anita. I know that I'll be there with bells on :D

Hi,

I have been planning to go for a long time. But would like to have a bit of info from those who do this more often.

I will be driving from Arizona.

Does anyone have the exact dates? I know where it is, but I need to plan days off from work.

Any special links to it (if there are any), would be great too.

Does anyone know if the hotels fill up, or have to get reservations months in advance?

Is there a Turf Club at Santa Anita one could get reservations to be in?

How soon in advance would one have to get Turf Club reservations ?

Are the SIM members who are going, going to be at the Turf Club, or in another area of Santa Anita?

Looking forward to this!

Thanks. :)

I will make a recommendation for some of the out of towners coming in as far as a hotel. When I go down for races at Santa Anita we stay in a hotel called the Pacific Palms Conference Resort. I usually book through one of the online reservations places because you can usually find deals on room for under $100 a night which is not bad by LA standards. It is about a 20 min drive from the track out in City of Industry. It is up on a hill overlooking the city and has a golf course and spa and they allow pets if that is a concern.

Here are some pictures from our room at the hotel.

And no I am not affiliated with them but thought people might like an exceptional place to stay for a reasonable price. I think this is a 3 star hotel.

I *hope* to be there.. with my mom.

And mom plans to be there with pretty much ALL of our family.. but I think differently. If that happens, I may abandon them to go hang out with some SIMsters.

So I have a question. Is it better to ride a taxi to wherever you want to go, or should I plan to get a rental car? And just exactly HOW krazee are Californian drivers? Because.. we come from a town.. where three cars coming to a four-way stop is considered "traffic."

Rental car.

And Californians are afraid of my driving, so they're not nearly up to my crazy standards, lol!
