Yay for Northern Meteor! Aww, that's good but bad at the same time Peter, lol. How did Whobegotyou do?

It was just run. Whobegotyou 2nd to 80-1 shot Rebel Raider. Good to see Reset (one of the most underrated horses of the decade) get a group 1 winner in his first crop.

I have just become aware i know nothing about metro racing in victoria, i shall keep my opinions to myself from here on in! Today stunk! One last post: Littorio, Littorio, Littorio for the cup, i've been on him since the start of the thread and i can't see any reason to change. I'm sure he was sharking today to make sure i get better odds on him winning the cup! :?

Foot note: Wilander did beat Northern Meteor across the line but he had to break through his barrier before the gates opened to do it! I can't believe they scratched him, that is a win in my book!

Yeah, I saw an article on Bloodhorse about Rebel Raider-that's a HUGE upset! Whobegotyou still ran well though.

I backed Barbaricus @ 33/1 for the Melbourne Cup. Light weight and a likely stayer with good form at 10-12f. Come on Barby!!

Happy Birthday to the SH horses! Only around 3 months to the Melbourne Cup. And less to the Caulfield/Cox etc. I'm getting excited

That's awesome. Are you actually considering it or not really? Does invite mean they pay for you or is it just like 'hey we think your horse is good'. Don't think there's ever been a horse from the US before running in the MC

Peter Gleason wrote:It may be a bit early, but with the big guns coming back this week I'm already pumped for it. Not sure if there's any real interest here, but I endeavour to post fields and results now and then. Hopefully there'll be a couple other people I can talk to here ;) There's already markets up at Betstar.com.au

Cox Plate

Weekend Hussler 4.50
Light Fantastic 6.00
Maldivian, Sirmione 17.00
Duke Of Marmalade (IRE), Princess Coup, Racing To Win, Tuesday Joy 21.00
C'est La Guerre, Henrythenavigator (IRE), Pompeii Ruler, Triple Honour 26.00

Melbourne Cup

Efficient, Septimus (IRE) 13.00
Weekend Hussler 17.00
C'est La Guerre, Kibbutz, Maldivian, Nom Du Jeu (NZ) 21.00
Alexander Of Hales, Littorio, Master OReilly, Tuesday Joy, Viewed 26.00

Caulfield Cup

Weekend Hussler 4.60
C'est La Guerre, Kibbutz, Maldivian 21.00
Alexander Of Hales, Eskimo Queen, Light Fantastic, Master OReilly, Nom Du Jeu (NZ), Septimus (IRE), Viewed, Zipping 26.00

The picture will be a bit clearer after this weekend, but at this early stage I like the Huss in the Caulfield Cup, Light Fantastic in the Cox Plate and Tuesday Joy in the Melbourne Cup.
What horrible long range tipping! Only Weekend Hussler even made it to the race, with disastrous results. Interesting to see that Viewed was actually up there at 25-1 at this early stage. I think he started 40-1 or so on the day.

Entries are in for the big three and markets are up on the tab website:

Cox Plate

Whobegotyou 6.00
Maldivian 10.00
Theseo, Pompeii Ruler 14.00
Jolie's Shinju 16.00
Zipping, Typhoon Tracy, Heart of Dreams 18.00
Black Caviar  , Onemorenomore, El Segundo, Predatory Pricer, Vision and Power 21.00

Melbourne Cup

Profound Beauty, C'Est La Guerre 15.00
Rebel Raider, Roman Emperor, Viewed, Changingoftheguard 17.00
Master O'Reilly, Shocking, Schiaparelli, Zipping, Tuesday Joy, Precedence, Efficient, Speed Gifted 21.00
Unsung Heroine, Age of Aquarius 26.00

Caulfield Cup

Shocking, Whobegotyou 15.00
Roman Emperor, Speed Gifted 17.00
Nom du Jeu, C'Est La Guerre, Rebel Raider, Viewed, Predatory Pricer, Jolie's Shinju, Metal Bender 21.00

Let's hope I go a bit better than last year. Four year old mares in the CC are a great combination (Ethereal, Arctic Scent, Princess Coup, Republic Lass, that's it off the top of my head); let's go with Daffodil ($26), MC to C'est La Guerre. Tuesday Joy for the Cox Plate (if she's recovered from Dubai and is set for it)
Big Changes Electrocutionist x Subtle Admiration (Future Hero) $5K
Forty Four Years Worlds Abound x October Magic (Lokite Magic) $1K
Piston Azamour x Ipi Tombe (Manshood) $7.5K

Liston day...some big horses resuming

TIPS!

Shamoline Warrior - half bro to Rebel Raider by Shamardal might find too short but debut run was awesome
Rostova - 2nd best 3yo to Black Caviar in my eyes
Von Costa de Hero - Slipper '08 Runner Up has never been in a race this easy ever; hopefully will be too strong
Predatory Pricer - Question marks on the others, Whobe and HOD first up; TT agaisnt males so going with the half brother to Takeover Target
Fifth Avenue Lady - Really nice first up run when blocked for a run; she's my dark horse for the spring - I'm thinking Myer Classic for her

and

Denman in Sydney - horse is a total beast...Lonhro to be the nest huge sire

I love you Predatory Pricer and Denman (and Rafaello and Whobegotyou)

Hate for Von Costa de Hero. Can't beleive I was sucked in again (although he did come home alright in the end :? )

Not sure what happened to Rostova

Probably won't post on this anymore

I was on Orange County in the Liston,if he had any luck at the top of the straight he would have been right in the finish. I won't sack him on that effort but his fitness edge will be gone.

Can't believe Essendon beat the Saints.

I was actually pretty happy with the Predatory Pricer tip, just wasn't going to post because no one was replying to me (I do think my tips could improve though) . But now I've had two replies in this thread so I'm happy :)

Might check out the Orange County's run then; he's an obvious Show Day Cup horse (or whatever they call that 1400m race on Underwood Stakes day)

I only had the one bet yesterday and that was on Cats Whiskers. Now this cat is eating the cream because I got her at $8.00.

This now means my betting account is looking good and hopfully I can get a good price on See The Stars for his race on Tuesday night. :D
