I cleared my cache. I reinstalled Java.

Still not working on Windows.

Off to try again on Firefox.

Then I'll try downloading the Google browser.

And after reading some of the forum posts on Addon's website, I see that they've been having some problems with Java versions 6.0, which I downloaded. They suggested to download a 5.0 version.

That's what I'm off to do now....

Leo-
I get the same thing-it is so annoying.
I have been on the chat, so I don't get what changed.
If you get it corrected, clue me in will you?

Did we ever get this figured out? I'm away from my computer... and if I had my laptop with me, I'd be okay, but I can't log on from either computer at my dad's! It says "Ashley Gibson... Success... Logging In..." but after that does NOTHING. I completely disabled the firewall and the virus program (no telling my dad, he'd kill me, although I put them back on when I realized it didn't work!) and nothing helped... downgraded java... and had to re upgrade when that didn't work.

I'm still in the same boat-
I downloaded Safari--it said I needed a plug in-it gave a link to a free download.
Then I get into an ugly loop that does me no good whatsoever.
When I go into the Safari troubleshoot, I get a long story how I better backup everything because proceeding could cause me to loose a lot from my computer.
Very annoying

Help I can't get into the chat room
I think my computer is too old :(
Is there anyway I could possibly be in on the action outside the chat room?

This is REALLY GETTING VERY OLD, VERY FAST
I've cleared my computer of everything Java and then downloaded the newest and brightest version-all to no luck.
It gets down to no fun playing a game by yourself

OK. Let's try again with your situation. As far as I know, chat is working for almost everyone so we need to dig into your specific situation. If other people are still having trouble, please chime in here.

First, a few questions:
Mac or Windows?
Which operating system (MacOS 10.4 or 10.5 or Windows XP or Vista...)
Which browser?
Any specific error messages you get?
How far do you get?

Here is an old post (earlier in this same thread) which might help:
viewtopic.php?p=102913#p102913

If you have other computers or browsers or internet connection to try, that would be helpful as we could determine if the problem is with a specific computer, or browser or Internet connection.

Thanks.

Ok-I am at home and I'm the only user of this computer.
I have Windows xp and use the Internet Explorer.
I have tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari
The closest I got was with Safari and it gave me a prompt that I was missing a pluggin.
I tried downloading the free pluggin and it put me on an endless and useless loop.
I tried deleting ALL JAVA versions and then redownloaded the most recent from the company.
When I click Chat, I see the Java logo, then a blue square saying "loading..."
The the screen goes white
Then in the bottom left hand corner-

Nick Gilmore
Success.Loggin in...

And nothing else happens-please help me

PS-I can't afford a new computer, this one is only 2 years old

I forwarded your report to the people who make the Chat room service. It seems that you have done all the things they suggest. The most likely cause seems to be firewall related. I will post their entire response below. Could you try completely turning off your firewall and restarting your computer? Then try chat? If that works, then we simply have to find out what to modify in the firewall to allow chat data to flow while still protecting the computer. Here is their entire response:
Chat Tech Support wrote:This could be an issue with this users firewall restricting access.
This is usually the case if they do not get passed the loading section.

If you are unable to load and/or login to the chat room, we recommend visiting the AddonInteractive Support Center TroubleShooter at: http://support.addoninteractive.com/ind ... le_shooter

The trouble shooter will help you resolve common user issues.

Should your issue persist, we generally recommend clearing your browser's cache and/or restarting your computer to ensure that you're chat room isn't loading because of cache instability. Instructions for clearing your web browser's cache (temporary internet files) can be found at http://support.addoninteractive.com/ind ... &article=2

If you or your users are experiencing problems logging in, and you suspect the problem may be caused by a firewall preventing access, please read the knowledge base article concerning this at http://support.addoninteractive.com/ind ... article=21 -- If you have ruled out a firewall issue, please ensure that you include a full URL (web address) to your chat room and a valid username/password to login with when contacting support.

Should you continue to experience problems after using the Trouble Shooter and clearing your web browser's cache, please let us know.
