It's been fun coming up with names for my new Apps. I named my first one after my own mare, Silver Onyx, then named a few after stable mates that she had over the years and ended up just picking what I thought were just cool names.

So, my band of Apps are as follow: Silver Onyx, her best bud for 15+ years Bella Belle (a TWH mare who was actually registered under Tennessee's Dixie Belle or something similar), the "other" mare in the herd, another walker named Margarets Melody and Hershey Bar (my mare's last pasturemate). The more random names are Brambles (a shelter cat), Hant ('cause she's a white filly and that's a colloquialism for ghost), Hotspur, Buffington (a local community), King for the Day (b/c he was the only colt until the 5 a day was lifted), and Mimeograph.

My son Adrian (5 yr old) said the Quarter-Horses sounded better than any other mixed so I bought 10 of them. All named after his favorite cartoon characters. Probably name all the QH's after his fav's. Might be a good way to separate them.
