Fayruz was very nice! She cloobered my filly Ceara... looks like Ceara just had some awful racing luck in her debut tonight -- she broke really well & then dueled early on, but got pushed 4 wide & had nothing left down the stretch. That was w/o equipment, so I'll play around with that, maybe a figure 8 and lasix... or maybe a tongue-tie... And perhaps a little extra distance may be good.

My other Arab going tonight had bad luck, too. Prancin Snow bobbled at the start. Once he got his feet under him he flashed some speed to make up ground, but didn't have much left in the tank down the lane. I think we'll go with a figure 8 bridle there too just to control him a little bit.

I had a QH filly that I bought off someone for cheap after her bad debut win for me tonight so I'm doing okay w/the so-so performances of these 2.

Serefina looks good, but Emma Lochran's filly Flight At Dawn worked 4F 0.28 seconds faster (52.26 I think)

It's funny how everyone is raving about Fayruz! I actually think Nazli is my best out of all of them who have raced. She's pretty cool.

And Lamya hasn't raced yet, but she's a key contender next year for sure.

And now, instead of Calc III (final is tomorrow), I have fluffy little Way babies frolicking in my mind.

ETA: Exactly! Those extra 5 inches make Rian an Unwieldy Object.
Psst, Hedban Maanagi is 2 inches shorter than Serafina, clearly the most important factor at work here...

low on resistance and long on leg ;)

And last I checked Flight At Dawn ain't runnin'....Thank Gawd :D

edit: OH NO!! I spoke too soon!! Run ...run and hide!!!! LOL

I had a good mixer night - 16:3-2-4 - Only 3 didn't bring home a check.

Black Irish (Appy 3yo c) broke his maiden second time out with a 72 sf. Nice boy!

Laney (Arab 3yo f) broke her maiden second time out at 4f with a 69 sf. She's named after my last rl mare.

Ojibwa (Appy 4yo f) broke her maiden second time out too :) at 870yds with a 68 sf. I might try shortening her up a little.

Second Sight (Arab 4yo c) was second for the second time, be careful what you name'um :)

Spotted Eagle (Appy 2yo c) was second to Robs' Its A Gamble.

I love the mixed breeds!

Edit - Oops I put this in the wrong thread, sorry :?

Great Arabian Diaries, Chelsey!

(Is it strange that this is how I see Way in my head? Kinda dorky, kinda crazy... :D)

Thanks Sasha. I love writing about Way. I always picture him as goofy, yet a very handsome goof. :D

I love goofy, very handsome goofs! :)

Way's way overdue for a win though! He's just run into some toughies...I don't know, try dropping him down to a maiden race?

Yay I'm so excited! Nazli and Bahija run tonight! And Week 7 you all get a real treat....Fayruz vs Afra in the Sand Dune stakes. Add Emma Lochran's Laney to the mix and you've got quite a race there!

Well Skippy, your question is a bit confusing, and I can't do it without naming a horse.

Say you get the idea you want to buy El Pantera. If Mr. Vargas doesn't want to give up his horse, you're sunk. But if he does, you got to take into consideration that this is probably one of the, or possibly the, most talented Arabian in the SIM. You're going to have to shell out a lot of money for that horse.

I'm not sure what the ballpark figure would be, though.

depends on the horse on what it's worth will be

on an un related note

Mo Jo made her 2nd start tonight and won, on to her next race, don't think I am brave enough to enter her in a stakes but as long as she is consistent for me I will be happy

Welllp, Nazli won again. She's now 3 for 3 with $60,000, which makes her the SIM's highest Arab money earner so far. :) She's a pretty neat filly, she is.

I think at this point saying a particular horse is the best is too much too soon. Most of these horses have only raced 2 or 3 times at most, and yes, a few are undefeated, but I personally don't think that makes them great just yet. Those some stars budding, that is for sure... El Pantera may be the best 4F specialist. Nar may be a 5F specialist... Rian may be the best 6F specialist... There may be another that will be a 2 mile specialist. And there are a lot of really nice fillies developing... including the undefeated Nazli... But it's all way way too soon to say, though. We will know more after this season is finished. ... anyway... that's why I cringe at "the best" at this point as it is such a strong phrase and these arabs are still young in regards to racing careers.

Sasha -- I really liked Pyrokinesis's debut -- she looks like she'll be a good endurance filly.... could be a good mate for Way!! ;)
