Cherish is up!

What do you guys think? This is the first headshot for a brand new artist.

First observation, the halter needs a lot of work.

The halter definitely. It looks a halter/bridle combo or something with browband and underneath the throat the leadrope is supposed to be attached and not separated off of it on a different thing.

The horse looks good though!

I guess I should amend that to be, "What do you think of us having a third artist" not "what would you change on this headshot"

I like very much and very impressed by Cherish. Obviously I am not aware of the technical problems with the halter etc. But the horse is hot.

I love the actual horse. Very good, the details are good. I love the details on the face and the lightning and dark ratio is really good. If I knew nothing about halters I would be very impressed!

Its definitely good and it'll be nice to lighten the load for our other two artists

I'm glad we got another artist! As far as the horse Cherish goes there is nothing wrong with the halter other than some angles/shading but that is a common sales halter with chiffney bit. There are a few variations but it is mainly used for better control, and looks.

Nice job new artist and welcome!

Here, Anna, if it helps, another view of a sales halter:

Lurking is up!

Watch out! He might be lurking behind you right now!

Lokite Talent is next, then Pax Britannica.

For some reason Cherish looks a bit blurry to me. Otherwise, it looks like a good job. And Lurking is very cute - pokable nose!

I think Cherish looks good. Especially her eyes and star. Makes me really want to rub her forehead and have a ton of white hairs get all over the place.

Cherish looks very nice. The only thing I saw that looks blurry on her headshot is where the chain of the lead comes down off the bottom of the halter to where the chain is connected to the leather of the lead.

Otherwise, as Kyndle Deville stated
there is nothing wrong with the halter other than some angles/shading
.

I also agree with Cleo Black is one of the hardest colors to work with especially when it comes to shading. Another thing that makes Black so difficult to work with is trying to create depth so that everything doesn't look flat, trying to get the finer details of the horse (muscles, Veins, individual hairs...etc) to show correctly without looking over exaggerated or like something else altogether different. It's just a very very unforgiving color when it comes to adding too much or not enough contrasting color(s) to use for shading, depth, detail and definition.
