I think people should do what they want on sim. sim is supposed to be fun and people have fun in there own ways. I feel people should help each other but when a newbie is given advice i dont think they HAVE TO take it.

Oh, I apologize for my late responce. I should clarify. i meant that if you ask for advice you get tons of it especially on sim with so many nice people. I feel you get many different advice and people should not get mad if someone does not accept there advice. If you get what i mean. sorry again =) mike

Mike I can't speak for others, and I won't, it is one thing to give advice and take advice but I don't particularly like it when I feel as if I give advice and I am laughed at in my face by numerous actions

Another way to pinhook is to buy the horse and then put it in a claiming race for more than you bought it for. It doesn't have the same negative vibe as putting the horse on the sales page.
I dont have anything against pinhooking though

I find this to probably be the best place to start:
<a href='http://www.simhorseracing.com/simformation/index.html' target='_blank'>http://www.simhorseracing.com/simformat ... ex.html</a>
This is better, more detailed, and longer:
<a href='http://www.simhorseracing.com/walkthrough/index.html' target='_blank'>http://www.simhorseracing.com/walkthrough/index.html</a>
I think the best strategy for new players is to start stockpiling runners and forget about the breeding side of it for now. Stick to the newbie sales page, try to stockpile enough racers to allow you to start a couple horses each week, then kind of build up your stable from there constantly looking for deals on the newb sales page (best times, if I remember right, are later on results nights).
Workouts really aren't necessary unless you are talking about a 2yo (they need 2 workouts under their belts to start racing) or a horse who is coming off a long layoff and needs a fitness boost. Regular racing will almost always keep a horse fit enough. If you have a horse who is surface confused you can also use workouts to help determine a preferred surface for the horse.
