Johnny Friendly

Original article written by Stina Vica posted 5 months 3 weeks ago

In today's article I would like to introduce you to a stallion who retired a few days ago. This time something new for your Turf Sprinter mares.

The stallion I would like to introduce to you is called; Johnny Friendly. He is a Turf sprinter and has run 4 furlongs as well as 7 furlongs and everything in between.
The Roan stallion is the son of Ahtohalla and Summer in Dublin. Also in his pedigree are horses like Thunder Horse, Little Fictions, Deschutes and Lord Black. Johnny Friendly was bred and is owned by Aidan O Brien. He is available to all at Wise Owl Stud Farm.

The Turf sprinter began his career in 62 and by the time he retired as a five-year-old had won $1,722,000 with a best speed figure of 97. He has also won many stakes races including the Nakayama Pass Stakes, the Tulip Sprint and the Instant Million Cup. He also ran well in the Chimborazo Stakes, twice, and the Pegasus Dash Stakes. In the Pegasus Dash he could only finish third, but I think that was a very good performance. He came from the middle of the field in the sprint to the front and could definitely prove that he is a good racehorse. In summary, Johnny Friendly won 12 of the 23 races he ran, finished second 2 times and third 4 times.

Retired a few days ago now in the year 65, he already has some foals that we could be excited about next year and also already a post in the forum. For $27,500 for his first year as a stud, you can't go wrong. Let's see if the stud fee will change - probably depends on the foals and their qualities. I would definitely check him out, maybe you will now too. I would recommend him.

In addition, his owner in the forum still said about him;;
"He is a home bred out of a multiple Grade 1 winning mare Summer in Dublin by leading TS stallion Ahtohallan who needs no introduction.
Johnny Friendly galloped as a late blooming freak as a yearling and probably excelled during his 4yo campaign winning, winning 2x Grade 1 races and finishing placed in the Chimbarazo and Stewards Cup towards the end of the year.

He is hypoing well, he is A to several of my blue hen mares that I checked. Please consider him for your TS mares!".
