A match or not

Original article written by Stina Vica posted 5 months 2 weeks ago

I've been using the HypoMate function a lot recently and have always asked myself the question of, if I should really spend my Game Points on it, and if I really need it?
By HypoMating, which costs 250 GP per use, you find out how good the mating of the two horses could be - it only gives us an idea for this mating and is no guarantee that we will get a perfect foal with a Flat A or A+ (the best) for example.

Of course, the game is complex and pedigrees are not just a cool feature. Some mares match better with other pedigrees from different stallions and you can find that out by hypomating, for example. I have often seen this with formidable mares, which are only B+ with many stallions but then give an A- with a certain stallion. Maybe you have a better chance of getting a good foal with this horse? But also with Blue Hens or Star Mares from many A- then with only certain stallions to a Flat A. I have never seen an A+ myself.

As mentioned above, I have recently spent thousands of Game Points to see if a mating between my mares and the selected stallions is a good match. Of course I breed with a hypo a- or A rather than a B+. But what I have often noticed is that my best foals have been out of formidable mares or not out of the mares I would have expected.

To summarize, I don't think we know 100% how the game is set up and that's a good thing. I think you can use the feature Hypomate well and see how good it really is between the horses, but maybe you should also listen to your own feelings and just decide for yourself if you want this stallion and if he fits your mare. In any case, I will continue to see if my Blue Hens produce good foals for me and not just my formidable ones. I also see that with other players the good blue hens/stat mares produce really good foals. We'll see. However, I can only speak for myself and from my experience.
