Who is the best Thoroughbred breeder in the SIM?

When I am looking at an Auction or at the Player Sale Pages, I always look at who is the breeder of the horses up for auction or for sale.

If the horse is from a good breeder, I know that I should definitely be bidding.

To answer this question, I downloaded all of the broodmares that were born between SIM Year 45 and Year 55. I then downloaded the data for all the progeny that were 5 years old or older that were born from these broodmares. I choose to only look at progeny that were 5 years old or older as of Year 66 because I wanted the racing careers of the progeny to be mostly over.

To determine that best breeder, I looked at how many of the breeder’s progenies won a Stakes race.

There were a total of 62,828 broodmares and 247017 progenies in the study.

There were 8716 Stakes Winners in the dataset.

There were 329 breeders that bred at least 1 Thoroughbred Stakes Winner. That shows great diversity in breeders. It shows that breeding Stakes Winners is not restricted to just a few players.

Not surprisingly, the best Breeder in the SIM was the Steward with 791 Stakes Winners bred.

Below is the Top 20 breeders by total number of Stakes Winners bred. Note: this data only includes broodmares that were born between Year 45 and 55, so this list does not include players that recently started playing the SIM.
