Advice for new players

Original article written by Joe Shaw posted 4 weeks 0 days ago

For any new player joining the game for the first time. Hi! I am so happy to see you join a great group of people that enjoy doing this as a way of life for a lot of us, so welcome!.

I want you to be very successful and have fun playing the game and get the same enjoyment as the rest of us do. I am going to give you some first time tips that I have used for the 8 years I've been on sim. You follow this, you will have as much fun as we all do playing this great game. The first thing that I like to do is claim a horse, claim one cheap. You start off with 100,000 dollars and you should use it very wisely. I would start off with the racing in Alaska. They have good low money claiming races that are good for any level but especially for first time players.

Start small, start with a couple horses and get some experience entering and running, then you can go from there. Another thing I would do is look at the mares that are available for breeding. Again start cheap and go from there. Experience different mares and studs to see if the distance, breed, and performance are the same before breeding them together. If not, it's gonna be hard to find the right races for the horse. Believe me when I tell you that I did it a ton of times when I first started. Those are some of the little things you should know.

Everything else comes with experience and time on the game. Do not ever give up on the game too soon. There are a lot of players on here that are more than here to help including myself. Good Luck and hope your first season is great!!!
