Secrets for Newbies: SIM-Harmony

Original article written by Clinton Jacinto posted 14 years 1 week ago

Now that you’ve gotten your Steward bred horse, you think you can get away with world domination huh? Well, before you decide to do that. It isn’t a bad idea to get to know the people in the SIM community. There are many characters in the SIM that I’m pretty sure you’ll find one you’ll like and befriend. There are also some knuckle heads that may come off as jerks *cough…cough…Larry…cough…cough…* Just kidding. Just like the real world there are tons of personalities in the SIM. All you have to do is come to the chat room and find out for yourself.

I’m going to list a few of the personalities in the SIM that you may see in the chat room. I apologize now if I leave anyone off the list. What am I saying…of course I’m going to leave some people out, there are hundreds of players in the SIM and I am not a robot slave.

Steward- Well, hopefully if you want to know just one person in the SIM, you would want to know the Steward. This young lady is sweet and hard working. A nice person to have a horse conversation with, whether it is real horses or SIM horses. She really can’t tell the difference half the time :P Anyways, she loves the SIM obviously and has done so much to enhance and update the game in so many ways. Compared to the old SIM, the new SIM has evolved and still continues to evolve before our eyes courtesy of the Steward’s hard work and her staff.

The Oldies- This group of people consist of players who have been here a while; Ara Davies, LaDonna King, Jon Xett, Susie Raisher, Ali LaDuke, Amanda Kessler, Sarah Chase, Brianna McKenzie, Alyse Schuver, and others. Most of them started playing right when they came out of their mothers’ wombs. Yes sir, these peeps are some bad mama-jamas. They are all now in their early 70s and reside in SIM retirement nursing homes where they are given a replica room of their favorite race horse’s stable. All equipped with standard amenities such as; a pool, equisizer (for humans it’s called homoquisizer), a vet (we had a community vote on whether it be a MD or a Vet. The vet won winning all votes except for one. Ara was drunk that day and voted for an MD), and what kind of retirement home would it be if it did not have an automatic hot walker for old people. Rookies/Newbies when you see these people in the chat room. Make sure to give them a deserving hello. If they just ignore you, they probably don’t have their hearing aide on.

The Celebrities- There are quite a few celebrities in the SIM.

Eric “The National Bank” Nalbone- Is rarely seen in the chat room now a day. Rumor has it that he was trapped in his giant vault while trying to count his payment for a horse he bought in a Steward auction or he may just still be there counting the $30 million plus SIMdollars he has to pay the Steward.

Larry “I Hate You All” Burndorf- Larry is like the guy you don’t want to stand behind of when you are in a long line. He will kill you with his complaining and hatred of all things living. Well, the good thing about Larry is he is like an encyclopedia. Heck, he is better than the encyclopedia, because according to him the encyclopedia is wrong. All hail the great Larry. Anyways, Larry is not a bad guy he is just an upfront type of kind of person. Get to know him and he will grow on you and you’ll have a lot of laughs when he is in chat.

Scott “The Master Scribe” Eiland- If you want to get a good laugh by simply reading then by all means read Scott’s articles. He manages to always find the humor in everything. I love read his articles because they never fail to put a smile on my face each time I read them. When there is seriousness in the air there will always be a Scott article to lighten up the mood. A good person to have a knock knock joke with.

Steph “Hello” Lonhro-She is the only person in chat that will welcome everyone. This truly unique gift of welcoming others have yet to be seen in other SIMsters. She will welcome you right before you even come in the chat room. Some say that she has psychic powers. Others say she uses magic. She has a horse named Helen Keller who should have been named Pen and Teller named after two celebrity magicians. Steph maybe the welcome party for each person, but she always brightens my day when she says hello to me. It gives a sense of importance to me. Kind of like being mobbed by fans and paparazzi only you’ve got Steph. Steph keep up what you’re doing and I hope that you don’t stop welcoming people in the chat room. Thank you for greeting us every day.

The Groupies- These pretty much consist of the players that are always in the chat room each day. Anna Leroux, Brandon McLellan, Louis Bayou, Kya Matsumoto, Chani Ruzzo, Art Vandelay, Mellisa Mae and others who are like flocks of homing pigeons come feeding time. It isn’t a night at the chat room without these crazies around. It is nice to have such lively people around the chat every evening. They give flavor to the chat room when it is really bland in there.

There are plenty more personalities that I did not mention. Only because you as a new player should go in the chat room to explore and get to know others. This maybe a game where we all compete, but this game is more than just a game to some. It is a family of competitors that have fun and know how to be mature when need be. I encourage all the new players to join us in the chat room and let us treat you like family.
